Carter's Lodge is conveniently situated just minutes away from major Durban attractions / amenities and it is 800 metres from the beach offering comfortable and affordable accommodation.
Guests can relax on the patio with a sundowner or soak up the sun whilst enjoying the view of ships being anchored out at sea.
Close by attractions / amenities include the La Lucia Mall, Gateway Entertainment Centre, Virgin Active Gym and Health Club, Umhlanga Hospital and several business parks to name but a few.

Carter's Lodge Accommodation

We offer 5 en-suite bedrooms equipped with bar fridges, ceiling fans, air conditioning, percale linen, wireless internet, heaters, TV with M-Net / Dstv, safes, tea / coffee facilities.
The rooms have their own private entrances and the quality towels in the rooms are changed daily.

Bedroom 1
Has a king bed that can be converted into twin beds, a sleeper couch and an en-suite bathroom with shower. The room is decorated in whites, pale yellows, creams and has a touch of African colours.
Bedroom 2
Has a king bed that can be converted into twin beds with a spacious en-suite shower and is decorated in white, cream and has a hint of green.
Bedroom 3
Has a king bed or twin beds with a classical en-suite bath with shower. The room is decorated in white, cream, pale yellow with a hint of burgundy and green.
Bedroom 4
Has a queen bed, en-suite bath with a telephone shower and is brightly decorated in white, cream, pale yellows with a hint of blue.
Bedroom 5
This room is ideal for honeymooners, has an en-suite bath for 2 with a separate shower and is decorated in stone and creams.
This spacious room is set away from the other units, has its own driveway and a part sea view.

How To Get To Carter's Lodge

Follow the N2 north to the Umhlanga / Mt Edgecombe ramp. Turn right, continue to Durban M4. Next exit to Forest Drive / La Lucia.
Left at T-Junction, under bridge, left at next T-Junction into Armstrong Avenue. Continue straight to 2nd traffic circle, continuing straight No. 54 Armstrong Avenue is first gate on the left.
From King Shaka Airport
Head northwest toward Mdloti St / D144 2,8 km, turn left at Mdloti St/D144 3,2 km and take the ramp onto Outer Ring Rd / N2 Partial toll road 11,6 km.
Take exit 182 for M41 toward Mount Edgecombe / Umhlanga 750 m, turn left at M41 (signs for Umhlanga) 2,7 km, take the ramp onto Leo Boyd Highway / M4 1,3 km and take the exit 130 m.
Turn left at Ridge Rd 160 m, turn left at Armstrong Ave Go through 1 roundabout. We will be on the left 450 m
From Johannesburg
Take the N2 North towards Stanger, take the Umhlanga / Mt. Edgecombe / Phoenix turnoff and turn right over the freeway to travel along the M41.
Continue along the M41, passing Gateway, until you get to the M4 to Durban, the road does a horseshoe bend and becomes the M4 towards Durban.
Take the first turnoff to La Lucia Mall, at the T-junction turn left, under a bridge, at the next T-junction turn left into Armstrong Avenue.
Continue straight, around the traffic circle, through the traffic lights and then around the 2nd circle, to the 1st gate on the left, number 54 Armstrong Avenue.
