Lythwood Lodge offers a variety of accommodation which meet top international standards. The furnishings are crafted from mahogany wood to an exceptionally high standard and provide an ambiance which is both tranquil and comfortable. Artwork adorning the walls boasts largely local artists’ works and varies from grand landscape designs in the premier rooms, to more intimate animal or bird designs in the veranda rooms. |

The Executive/Honeymoon Suite
This is our most exclusive suite and is used either as an Executive suite
or for Honeymooners. The decor and paintings have been handpicked to create
that special sense romance, peace and tranquility.
Within this exclusive suite, you will find a serene sitting room leading onto your own private patio overlooking the Roman Style herb garden. The spacious bathroom has sweet scented candles and a shower suitable for two. This room takes luxury to a whole new level!
The Premier Rooms
These exceptionally large rooms were part of the original buildings dating
back to the Second World War, with views of the estate and have characteristic
leaded pane windows and log fires. One is furnished with a queen size
sleigh bed, whilst the other has a king size bed.
The Luxury Rooms
The 5 luxury rooms match the proportions of the main building. Each room
is heated by a gas fire and offers either two three-quarter beds or converted
to offer a king size bed. They both have views overlooking the Lidgetton
Valley and Roman Style Herb Garden.
The Verandah Rooms
A short stroll from the main lodge, these verandah rooms have private
views over the natural forest and trout waters. These rooms have two three-quarter
beds that can be adapted to a king size bed.
The Meadow Rooms
These light and airy rooms are located about 75 metres from the main lodge.
Wake to spectacular views of the valley and Drakensberg in the distance.
All eight rooms have three-quarter beds that can be converted into a king
size bed.
The Self-Catering Cottages
Recently completed, these self-catering cottages consist of four three-quarter
beds that can be converted into two king size beds, with en-suite bathrooms
and a large area that incorporates a well equipped kitchen, dining area
and lounge with DSTV.
Wheelchair Friendly
Lythwood is one of the only two country lodges that has been approved
by the South African quadriplegic society as being suitable for wheel
chairs. The room is strategically placed in that it is within 10-15 metres
of both the entrance and reception rooms, lounge, dining room, library
and bar.
The room itself is exceptionally large, has a log fire and two three-quarter beds. The bathroom has a purpose built shower area with an adjustable shower and seat.
To enhance your visit we offer the following facilities and

• A library and conference room and business centre.
• Laundry service (but not dry cleaning) and shoe cleaning.
• Swimming pool and covered parking area and daily car cleaning
service.
• Large baronial dining room that will seat up to 50 people and
has alcoves for the romantic dinner.
• A main formal lounge, seating 20 guests comfortably and an intimate
meeting lounge (ballroom) seating 16.
