Mountain Sanctuary Park is a beautiful nature reserve situated
approximately 90km from Pretoria and 110km from Johannesburg. The
reserve is privately owned and has been a protected refuge for wildlife
for many years.
Klipspringers, monkeys, jackal, warthog and so much more can be
found in and around camp as well as the remarkable beauty of flora,
bird and butterfly life, making our Sanctuary an incredible experience
for bird watches, botanists and hikers.
Mountain Sanctuary Park Accommodation
Log Cabins
The reserve has 8 log cabins, each equipped with crockery and cutlery,
fridge, stove and microwave, just about anything and everything
you might need for your stay.
Bedding and towels are not supplied unless previously arranged,
5 of the units are double storey and can sleep 6 people comfortably.

These units are 1,2,3,4,5 and comprised of 1 double room and another
2 rooms with 2 single beds. The single story cabins which are numbers
6,7,8 have 2 rooms, 1 with a double bed and another room with 2 single
beds.
A sleeper couch is available in each unit for children. All of the log
cabins are equipped with indoor fireplaces for those cold winter nights.
In true South African style, each unit has an outside braai, with a grid
and please note that we do not allow TV's and Radios
in the reserve.
Mountain Sanctuary Park is not only the perfect daytime getaway but also
offers spectacular 3 star accommodation, including intimate chalets and
stunning log cabins, some of which are on stilts overlooking the valley
and others that are privately nuzzled into the reserve.
All units are fully equipped self catering and each has their own private
braai facility as well as indoor fireplaces for those nippy winter nights.
We offer superb camp sites, each measuring approximately 20m x 20m. Ideal
for tents and caravans. The units do not include bedding as many of our
guests prefer to bring their own, however bedding is available at a small
additional cost and must be arranged when booking so that the unit can
be made ready for your arrival.
Chalets
The reserve offers 4 chalets, each equipped with crockery and cutlery,
fridge, stove and microwave, just about anything and everything you might
need for your stay.
Bedding and towels are not supplied unless previously arranged. PLEASE
NOTE: We do not allow TV's and Radios in the reserve
Chalets number 2 and 3 sleep 2 people (one room with a double bed). Chalet
number 1 has 2 bedrooms, sleeping 4 people.
Chalet 4 has 3 bedrooms, sleeping 6 people and all units have a sleeper
couch for children. Chalets 1-3 have built in fireplaces for those cold
winter nights. In true South African style, each unit has an outside braai,
with a grid.
Camping
Each camp site comes equipped with braai and grid and some of the sites
have access to power points. The reserve also offers freezer facility
for all campers.
Our ablution facility is well kept and offers guests the comfort of hot
water showers, private toilets and basic kitchen use.
Some of the sites have access to power points, this needs to be requested
on booking and is charged at an additional R30 per site per day and we
allow a maximum of 6 people per site.

How To Get To Mountain Sanctuary Park
Recommended Route (This route is tarred for all but
the last 2.5 km)
Take the R512 (past Lanseria), at the Broederstroom T-junction turn LEFT
and after Pecanwood turn RIGHT at the SUN-CITY / BRITS turn-off.
At the T-junction turn RIGHT towards BRITS / SUN CITY, at the 4-way stop
(ENGEN on right) turn LEFT towards SUN CITY.
Follow this road for about 38km past Majakaneng, Mooinooi and Buffelspoort.
After Buffelspoort turn LEFT at the 3-way stop. After about 10km turn
LEFT towards MAANHAARRAND and follow the MOUNTAIN SANCTUARY PARK SIGNS.
Alternate Route (Not recommended as it crosses Breedt's
Neck Pass which is seldom in good condition)
From Krugersdorp / Magaliesburg take the R24 towards Rustenburg. Take
the MAANHAARRAND turn-off to the RIGHT.
Cross Breedt's Neck Pass. Be Careful! Just after the small shop on the
right turn RIGHT and follow the MOUNTAIN SANCTUARY PARK SIGNS.
