Welcome to Marula PlaceWhen you travel through Kwa Zulu Natal, you will find the Natal North Coast - and especially the Zululand's Elephant Coast climate, perfect: Hot summer days and warm sunny winter days. The Guesthouse is on the border of the listed World Heritage Site,
the Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park, some 3800 hectares expanse of
lake and wetlands. |

The village we live in is called River View and is adjacent to the Umfolozi River and Mtubatuba. Marula Place is centrally situated - only 20 minutes drive to the beach (east) and 20 minutes drive to the Hluhluwe/iMfolozi Game Reserves (west).
Marula Place Accommodation
All rooms are en-suite, have air-conditioners, bar-fridges, hair driers, mosquito protection and tea/coffee making facilities. Three rooms have ceiling fans as well. The Cottage has two bedrooms, sharing a bathroom. It has a kitchen/lounge area, is air-conditioned, fully equipped for self-catering and can sleep 4 people.
For self-catering guests, breakfast is optional. The Cottage has private parking and a private garden with barbeque (braai) facilities. Full satellite TV is provided. Furthermore, We offer safe Bed and Breakfast plus Self-Catering accommodation in tastefully decorated en-suite rooms and a self-catering cottage.
Our Guesthouse is ideal for a group of people who want to spend time together. A lovely tropical 2-acre garden surrounds you - all in a 24-hour protected environment. We offer information and advice on planning all your outings.
Things To Do - Marula Place:
Boat Trip
The 2 hour boat trip on Lake St Lucia takes place 3 times per day- early
morning or late afternoon trips are the best. You will see crocodiles,
hippo and birds at close range.
Cape Vidal
One of the last remaining unspoilt beaches on our coastline - snorkeling,
deep sea fishing, whale and turtle watching - these require a booking
and we will assist you. Pack a picnic lunch and spend a day on the beach.
iMfolozi / Hluhluwe Game Reserves
Spend a full day in the park. We provide a picnic breakfast and advise
to help you to an early start. Sightseeing include white and black rhino,
elephant, lion, buffalo, tiger, cheetah, deer, zebra, hippo, wild dog,
warthog and many more - even the small five make themselves available.
Self-drive or let us arrange a tour in an open game drive vehicle.
Cultural Villages / Tours
A number of these are close to Marula Place - we will advise which is
best at the time of your visit. We also provide a "township Tour"
to bring you in touch with the real Africa.
