Five of the rooms are situated on the upper level, and have direct access to the upper balcony through sliding doors. Our family suite is located on the lower level and consists of two inter-leading rooms and an en-suite bathroom.
Fig Tree Blue is a lovely, cosy room with views to write
home about. Although it is one of our smaller rooms, it measures a spacious
20m², and the bathroom offers both a bath and a shower. Dotted Blue is a light, spacious room, which opens out
onto the upper balcony through glass sliding doors. This room has an en-suite
bathroom with a shower, from which you can look out across the ocean.
Meadow Blue is located upstairs at the corner of the
house, and has direct access to the upper balcony through glass sliding
doors. Clover Blue is our newest room and has been decorated
in a romantic, Victorian style. Complete with it's own private balcony
from which you can enjoy stunning sea, mountain and lake views, it offers
a cosy sanctuary for sunbathing, or catching up on a good book. Lucerne Blue is a lovely spacious suite situated in a private corner, on the lower level of the guesthouse. It consists of two interleading rooms which share an en-suite bathroom. Reed ceilings, moss green walls and crisp white linen create a warm and inviting space in which to relax and truly soak up that holiday feeling. These rooms are ideal for a family group, and comfortably sleep up to four people. Bluebottles Guest House FacilitiesOur dining area opens out onto the lower balcony, and on still sunny days the breakfast tables are moved out into the fresh mountain air. Breakfast consists of fruit salad, yoghurt, a selection of cereals, seed loaf, bacon and eggs, mushrooms, tomato, toast, fresh cape fruit juice and tea or coffee. Should you have any special dietary requirements, please don't hesitate to let us know. We have two comfortable lounge areas in which we invite you to relax and put your feet up. One is located downstairs, next to the dining area and boasts spectacular views with doors leading out onto the lower balcony. The upper lounge is a wonderful space to unwind in, and catch up on a bit of reading; there are plenty of books for you to read, satellite television and a video machine for those nights when you feel like staying in and just lazing about. We have two marble-top kitchens, which are fully equipped for your convenience. The upstairs kitchen is available to our guests for storing food and preparing meals, and our dining table is ideal to gather around for a cosy dinner, a relaxing drink, or even a game of cards. An honesty bar, well stocked with drinks and snacks, and complimentary tea and coffee is also available for your enjoyment. An indigenously landscaped set of stairs leads from
the road, up the mountain to the guesthouse. There are 131 steps from
the bottom, so of course we both have fabulous legs! Far above the day to day the hustle and bustle the guesthouse is perfectly situated for an early morning run along the scenic 'Boyes Drive' and then back along the edge of the sea in the fresh ocean air. (about 7km) Indigenous fynbos, specific to the mountainous regions of the Cape, attracts a wealth of insect and bird life to our garden. This garden is truly a labour of love, and is sure to become more enchanting each time you visit our guesthouse. Attractions / Activities Please note that due to the position of the guesthouse, it can only be reached by stairs. It is therefore unsuitable for wheelchair access, and may be problematic for disabled or elderly guests. How To Get To Bluebottles Guest HouseFrom the Airport
Ronleigh Rd makes a sharp bend to the right, follow the road for about
100m after the bend.
