Alkmaar Farmstay Accommodation
Our Garden Cottage has been recently refurbished. Tastefully decorated with beautiful linen and fabrics and all the conveniences to make ones visit more comfortable. The large bedroom has 2 x Queen size beds with en-suite bathroom and a private veranda overlooking a huge "Farm Style" garden. This cottage is always a popular choice.
The Valencia Cottage with it's bold rustic decor, en suite bathroom and two bedrooms is ideally suited for up to six. Each room has a queen size and single bed and all the amenities that one requires. Set in our beautiful spacious gardens, this farm style stay will certainly be memorable.
Both cottages have cooking facilities as well as a colour TV with DSTV.
Bush Camp
The camp can also be used for small weddings / conference / accommodation
for sport groups / team building.

Maroela Camp
Our newly developed Maroela Tented Camp, overlook one of the dams in our
beautiful property, offering two Safari tents with comfortable beds and
bedding to ensure a comfortable stay. The camp is also equipped with your
own private ablution facilities, as well as a lovely braai area and equipped
kitchen unit. A perfect break into nature!
Kiaat Camp
Our Kiaat Camp offers Dome Tent accommodation, each tent with comfortable
beds and linen to ensure a comfortable stay. The camp has an equipped
kitchen area, great braai area, and ablution area with showers.
Things to do
4x4 Trails & Training
Johann Sippel does 4x4 training at his farm Alkmaar, it lies about 16
km west of Nelspruit, the capital town of Mpumalanga. There is a training
facility with a obstacle course which consist of natural obstacles, up
and down hills which will test any driver and his/her vehicle.
After a basic training on this obstacle course everybody gets the change to try out there newly learned techniques on this 7 km route. After completion of this course everyone will get his/her certificate
The courses are for all 4x4 drivers, with or without any experience and also on all type of vehicles, the course is designed in such a why that the driver will get maximum advantage and service life out of his/her vehicle.

Game Viewing Alkmaar is close to the Kruger National Park. The Kruger
sustains 147 species of mammal, 112 species of reptile (including 50 of
snake), 34 of amphibian, 49 of fish (including the 'living fossil' lungfish
and an ocean-living shark found in one of the rivers) and nearly 230 species
of butterfly.
Bird Watching Alkmaar Farmstay is a birdwatcher's paradise
with nesting white fronted bee-eaters (arms-length from the beakfast nook),
resident paradise flycatchers, purple crested loerie's fish eagles, kingfishers
and long crested eagles being seen regularly.
Lowveld Botical Gardens - one of the finest and most
interesting botanic gardens in South Africa, set in beautiful surroundings
on the Crocodile River near Nelpruit. The gardens feature a number of
unique botanical collections from a Cycad garden to a tropical forest
containing a comprehensive variety of fig trees.
Tourist attractions in the area
Visit the Sudwala Caves - one of the major tourist attractions
in the Crocodile River Valley and only 15 km from the farm. The road between
Blyde River Canyon and Pilgrim's Rest
is particularly scenic and overlooks the Blyde River. Pilgrim's Rest is
rich in history with an array of fascinating old style shops to explore.
Kruger National Park. Near the entrance bridge of Sabie are the Bridal,
Lone Creek and Horseshoe Falls.
