Glen Afton Country House Accommodation

For the more adventurous, Glen Afton Country House offers the perfect base from which to discover the delights of the Midlands - restaurants, arts and crafts of the Meander route, golf courses and health spa’s. Explore the Drakensberg Mountains, the Zulu and Boer War Battlefields or enjoy many adventure and sporting activities the area has to offer.

Our central location also offers convenience for those attending functions at any of a number of country wedding and conference venues. Your hosts, Julia and Alan, will welcome you and ensure your comfort, convenience, peace and tranquility during your stay. You may arrive as a stranger but will leave as a friend.

Breakfast

All rates include for a full country breakfast comprising a choice of fruit juices, cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruits in season, toast and muffins/crumpets/scones, jams and preserves, eggs of choice together with cook’s selection of the day which may include bacon, beef or pork or chicken or mutton sausage, tomato, mushrooms, fritters, fried onions, potato or whatever!

The Victorian Suite (Double)
Romantic décor, full en-suite bathroom with Victorian style tub. Coffee/tea making facilities and homemade rusks are provided together with a variety of reading matter. A gas heater and down duvet keeps one snug on cold winter nights. The entrance patio overlooks House Dam.

The Nguni Suite (Family unit)
This unit, inspired by our own wonderful Nguni herd, comprises a spacious room with a king bed (convertible to twin beds), a bunkbed and a large, full en-suite bathroom. A camp cot may be provided for an infant. Children under 12 and infants sharing with adults are charged at a discounted rate. A minimum rate for the unit applies.

The Guineafowl Suite (Family Unit)
This unit comprises a double bedroom and an adjoining room (curtained doorway between) with two single beds (bunkbed) with a full en-suite bathroom.

The Oak Suite (King or Twin)
Sunny and spacious with a King bed (convertible to 2 x single beds) and a full en-suite bathroom, overlooking a beautifully landscaped courtyard. A camping cot may be made available for an infant. A gas heater and down duvet keep in the warmth on those wintry nights.

The Bushman Suite (Double)
Warm and earthy décor, full en-suite bathroom, with coffee and tea making facilities, homemade rusks and a variety of reading matter. A gas heater and down duvet keep out the cold on winter nights. The entrance patio overlooks House Dam.

The Lavender Suite (King or Twin)
Spacious room convertible to a King bed or Twin beds, with a full en-suite bathroom, overlooking our colourful gardens. A camping cot may be made available for an infant. Underfloor heating and down duvets ensure winter comfort.
