De Poort Country Lodge is nestled in the heart of the Cango Valley - 15km from Oudtshoorn, en route to the Cango Caves, Cango Wildlife Ranch and Cango Ostrich Show Farm and offers spectacular, mountainous views of the valley.

The lodge is owned and managed by Leon and Rita, who will warmly welcome you with true Klein Karoo hospitality.
The Lodge boasts with breathtaking nature and scenery (ideal for bird-watching) - on the premises we have a bar, dining-room, parking near the rooms and a salt-water swimming-pool.
On the neighbouring farm you can enjoy scenic walking trails, exploring the unusual plants and succulents of the Klein Karoo.

Directions to De Poort Country Lodge
Find the major intersection in Oudtshoorn (Baron van Rheede & Langehoven Rds crossing Voortrekker Way) Take the R328 North (Baron van Rheede Road) Continue on this road to the outskirts of town.
Past the Cango Wildlife Ranch on your left as you exit Oudtshoorn.
Approximately 15km from the Cango Wildlife Ranch you will reach Schoemanshoek Farming Community (Cango Ostrich Farm is on your right and the Cango Valley Dutch Reformed Church is on your left down in the valley).
Continue straight on the R328.
Mountains will close around you as you pass the sign for Schoemanspoort.
De Poort is approximately 1.5km further on your right hand side.
Look out for our face brick buildings and thatch roofs.
PLEASE NOTE: We are two guest houses of similar architecture on the same premises.
Please take the second entrance in the direct north from Oudtshoorn towards the Cango Caves (marked with face brick walls and signs of "De Poort Country Lodge").
