Luxury rooms (7):
De Zeekoe's old colonial homestead is over 150 years old. Restored to
its former splendour, its tastefully decorated luxury rooms all open onto
cool verandas, from where guests can enjoy a spectacular view of the lush
indigenous garden, beyond which the vast planes of the Karoo stretch all
the way to the stunning Outeniqua and Swartberg mountain ranges that tower
in the distance.
Each room is elegantly decorated in warm hues. Soft textures add a personal
touch.
All rooms are equipped with all the necessary luxuries.

Superior Rooms (5):
De Zeekoe's superior rooms all have large bedrooms with full en-suite
bathrooms and open-air showers. These rooms also offer guests majestic
views of the riverbed and mountain ranges.
Meticulous attention was given to even the smallest of details - from
the ostrich cushion feathers, persian carpets and soft lighting to the
sandstone tiles in the quaint bathrooms.

This spacious room with fireplace and open-plan bathroom is perfect for
honeymooners.
Views of the garden and Swartberg mountain range are at your doorstep.
Honeymooners receive a complimentary bottle of our best local wine and
flowers in their room.

Standard Rooms (3):
Our fully equipped standard rooms are ideal for single occupants or a
one night's stay over on a business trip. These basic rooms have a view
from both sides - riverbed and mountain.
The double standard rooms have a shower only and our twin standard room
has an en-suite with a bath and separate shower. The twin beds are apart
and cannot be moved together because of the layout of the room.

Only 5 minutes drive from the main house, you
will find our 4 unique waterfront cabins.
They are built from alien poplar wood that we removed to
make way for endemic brush and offer breathtaking views over the lake
with abundant bird life with 162 recorded species and is a malaria free
area. The cabins are fully equipped, except for television.
Perfect for a family or romantic getaway.
Canoeing and fishing at the lake is ideal for families and to enjoy the
scenery and nature around you.
Each of the 4 cabins has 2 bedrooms (interleading ceiling), bath and shower,
lounge, kitchenette and a large fireplace and deck.
Please note: For couples it is not recommended to share
a cabin because of privacy aspect. For children 4 years and younger, please
consider the safety aspect of the lake.
Our bird life loves doing a sing and dance on the tin roof of the cabins
at sunrise. The water level may drop during the dry season.

General information about De Zeekoe Guest Farm:
The name De Zeekoe, is derived for the Dutch name for
the farm, Zeekoegat, which literally means "hippo waterhole”
over a century ago, these odd-looking, water-loving creatures used to
frequent the riverbed that still runs through the farm to this very day.
Here at De Zeekoe, the silence of Africa indeed quietens one’s
mind so that the slow rhythm of life in the Klein Karoo indeed becomes
the song in your heart!

We held our first half marathon in Jan 2008, and plan to do this annually.

venison and appetising vegetarian dishes with a unique Karoo twist are
just some of the plates of delicacies offered on De Zeekoe's impressive
menu.
We harvest our own fresh produce daily from our farm vegetable gardens,
in which we cultivate organic vegetables, fruits, herbs and virgin olive
oil.
De Zeekoe's delicious dinners are complimented by its
comprehensive local wine list, supplied from our own wine cellar. Wine
tastings are available on request.

After a long exhilarating day under the hot African sun,

reserve on 2000 hectares. Here, away from it all, in a relaxed atmosphere
with a magnificent views of the Olifants River bed and Outeniqua mountains,
is an ideal place for business strategies and new developments to be brainstormed
by you as leader and your team.
Team building programs can be arranged to suit your
individual requirements from drumming to chocolate and wine tasting. We
can seat 36 people board-room style, 60 people school-room style and 80
cinema-style. A data projector, flip chart, screen as well as 24-hour
internet service is available.

Weddings:
The veranda of the old colonial-style homestead of De Zeekoe offers an
ideal setting for a wedding ceremony, complimented by overwhelming tranquility
and natural beauty.
We specialise in small intimate weddings, comfortably seating 60 people.
We can seat 120 people; 80 can be seated inside and if weather permits,
the rest outside on the verandah.
We can assist on arranging a wedding photographer, beautician and minister
if requested.
