Mooiplaas Guesthouse is a stylish and luxurious four-star guesthouse situated on our family run working ostrich farm just south of Oudtshoorn, in the heart of the Klein Karoo.
We are located 9,8km from Oudtshoorn in Volmoed and next to Highgate Ostrich Show Farm.

We are 44Km from George International Airport, all cultural and shopping attractions are in Oudtshoorn.

Mooiplaas is in the peaceful countryside yet only 10 km from Oudtshoorn which offers much to do and see.

Mooiplaas has a variety of accommodation suitable for all from the solo travelers, families, couples, children, honeymooners, FIT Tours and groups (2-28 people, children extra).
Superior / Honeymoon Suites x4
All rooms have their own entrances , are spacious and luxurious. Each has a separate lounge area, bedroom and huge modern bathroom.
And from your suite’s patio, you can enjoy the magnificent panoramic view of the Swartberg Mountains and Oudtshoorn.
General Room Amenities include king or twin beds, luxury crisp linen bedding, thicker mattresses, custom comforters, fluffier pillows and individual Climate Control / air conditioner.
There are panel heaters, tea / coffee facilities, free homemade rusks, safe, light dimmers, honesty fridge and an alarm clock radio.

Bathroom Amenities include separate showers, big baths, hair dryers, free toiletries (body lotion, bath salts, bath oil, liquid soap, shower cap).

We have 4 family suites, each accommodating 4 people. 3 family suites have a king bed, full bathroom (bath and shower) and a lounge area. One family suite has a queen bed, shower bathroom and 2 single beds in the lounge area.
If the family consists of more than 2 children, we can connect another family suite through inter-leading doors to give extra accommodation and space.
All family suites are on ground level with a separate entrance and have spectacular views of the gardens and Swartberg Mountains.
You can even see the town of Oudtshoorn from the front porch. Baby sitting services are available at a nominal cost and we will gladly arrange early dining hours for children.

How To Get To Mooiplaas Guest House

From Cape Town
Take the N1 to Worcester, from there, take the Route 62 and just before you reach Oudtshoorn, turn right to Mossel Bay (R328).
Drive 8KM, past safari Ostrich Show farm over the Olifants River Bridge, up a hill and turn right to Mooiplaas (sign board on the left). Drive for 1.6km.
From Cape Town on N2
Take the N2 from Cape Town direction George / Oudtshoorn, the sign board will say George / PE. Turn left to Hartenbos / Oudtshoorn.
Follow sign boards to Oudtshoorn, drive over the Robinson's pass and about 10km before Oudtshoorn, sign boards on the left. Turn left to Mooiplaas Guest House (same direction as Highgate Show farm).
From George / Knysna / Port Elizabeth
Drive the N2, turn towards George, take turn off to Oudtshoorn and drive into Oudtshoorn. Turn left first traffic light, on R62. Turn left to Mossel Bay (R328), 8KM, turn right to Volmoed and Mooiplaas Guest House is 1.6km on left.
From Oudtshoorn
Take Voortrekker Road (R62) west in direction of Cape Town / Calitzdorp / Mossel Bay, just at the outskirts of Oudtshoorn turn left (R328) to Mossel Bay.
Drive for 8km, past Safari Ostrich Show Farm. Go over the Olifants River Bridge, up the hill and turn right to Mooiplaas Guest House (sign board on the left).
