Welcome to Stonebreaker Country Lodge the main theme is African with special attention to luxury. Completely surrounded by mountains, you can listen to the peaceful murmur of the nearby river while you relax in the sparkling swimming pool. A half hour walk on the succulent trail, will work up your appetite for a hearty traditional farm-style breakfast.

Lunch and dinner, as well as a traditional barbeque, are also available on request. We offer you personal attention and unique Klein Karoo hospitality.
The name "Stonebreaker" originates from a Stone Breaker machine (England), which was used until 1962 for the crushing of metal to build the Schoemanspoort road from Oudtshoorn to the Cango Caves.

We are grateful that we are able to contribute towards a greenhouse gas friendly environment by hosting two of nature's best carbon friendly plants, namely the spekboom and the butter bush on our piece of land. The spekboom and butter bush are indigenous and most successful converters of CO2 into most wanted oxygen!

Guests are accommodated in modern thatched chalets with eleven (11) luxurious spacious en-suite, single and family rooms, as well as one budget room.
Our charming honeymoon suite promises you an unforgettable experience. Privacy is ensured - all units are at least 15 meters away from the main complex, with covered porches and uninterrupted views of the majestic Poort.

All rooms are equipped with DSTV-Selection, air-conditioners, hair driers, clock radios, towels, electronic heaters, tea & coffee facilities with rusks, as well as honesty bar fridges stocked with wine, beers and soft drinks per norm.

Guided 4X4 trips for up to four people at a time, rating at R200 per person for two hours.

Stonebreaker Country Lodge is situated in the picturesque Schoemanspoort, 14km from Oudtshoorn on the main road (R328) to the world famous Cango Caves (14km). Centrally located in respect of all tourist attractions such as the Cango Ostrich Farm (2km), Cango Wildlife Ranch (12km), scenic Swartberg Pass (18km), Rust-en-Vrede Waterfall (16km) and Gamkaskloof (the Hell).
