Butterfly Cottage is situated on our farm in the Commondale farming area, 27 km from Paulpietersburg en route towards Piet Retief. Our thatch-roof cottage is ideal for a family of four; it has a bathroom leading off the main bedroom and two single beds upstairs in the loft. There is a fully equipped kitchenette for our self-catering guests. The cosy cottage is part of our garden and has a scenic view of the farm dam, teeming with bird life. The farm dam is stocked with Florida Bass and is ideal for Catch and Release fishermen. Enjoy the scenic view from the cottage with cattle, buck and guinea fowl filling the panorama at different times of the year |

Directions To Butterfly Cottage
Butterfly Cottage is situated near the N2, 35km south of Piet Retief and
65km north of Pongola. Take the “Commondale” exit off the
N2, proceed for ±10km and take the “Honongkloof” exit.
Travel 3km on the gravel road and turn right at G. Kohlmeyer / Butterfly
Cottage sign.
Alternate Routes
Take the R33 from Piet Retief to Paulpietersburg. On this road, take the
“Commondale” exit. Travel 11km, on the Commondale road, then
take the “Honingkloof” exit. Travel 3km on the gravel road
and turn right at G. Kohlmeyer / Butterfly Cottage sign.
Take the R33 from Paulpietersburg to Piet Retief, after ±18km take the “Commondale” exit. Travel 11km, on the Commondale road, then take the “Honingkloof” exit. Travel 3km on the gravel road and turn right at G. Kohlmeyer / Butterfly Cottage sign.
