Dockside Guest House is situated directly across the picturesque
small boat harbour on the East Bank of Port Alfred.
We are exactly 150km between the cities of East London and Port
Elizabeth.
Dockside is in a convenient location to the beaches, small town
and is a great stopover as there is easy accessibility to the main
road through Port Alfred.
Dockside Guest House Accommodation
We offer 5 bedrooms with scenic views overlooking the small boat
harbour, the Kowie River and the unique arched Kowie Bridge which
displays multicoloured lights each evening.

The rooms are tastefully and elegantly decorated all with DSTV, a bar
fridge, hair dryer and tea / coffee making facilities. 3 of the bedrooms
have their own separate entrance which leads onto private patios and the
tranquil garden.
Harbour Room
This is the largest and the most luxurious and elegantly furnished of
the rooms. The room has a queen-sized bed with luxury white linen.
The room has two comfortable chairs and a table for relaxing and enjoying
the view. There is a full size dressing table, a walk through wardrobe
which leads into a large, luxurious bathroom.
The bathroom has a large triangular bath, large shower and 2 basins. The
room has a TV with DSTV, a bar fridge, tea / coffee making facilities
and hair dryer.
It opens up on to a large private balcony with a table and chairs and
the balcony overlooks the small boat harbour.
Ethnic Room
This room is furnished with a comfortable double-sized bed with décor
consisting of Ethnic art and paintings. The room has its own en-suite
bathroom with shower, basin and toilet.
There are built in wardrobes and a built in dressing table with chair.
The room has a TV with DSTV, a bar fridge, tea / coffee making facilities
and hair dryer.
It also has a ceiling fan for those warmer days and nights, a private
balcony with 2 chairs and a table and the view is spectacular overlooking
the small boat harbour, the Kowie River and the unique arched Kowie Bridge
which displays multicoloured lights each evening.
Sea Room
This is a modernly furnished room with a double-size bed with luxurious
white linen. The room has its own en-suite bathroom with shower, basin
and toilet.
There are built in wardrobes and a built in dressing table with chair.
There is also a luggage holder, TV with DSTV, tea / coffee making facilities,
a hair dryer and bar fridge.
The room has a wonderful private patio leading out to the beautiful garden
with fantastic views of the small boat harbor.
African Room
The African Room is furnished with comfortable twin-sized beds and the
décor consists of African art and paintings. The room has its own
en-suite bathroom with shower, basin and toilet.
There are built in wardrobes and a built in dressing table with chair,
2 comfortable chairs, a TV with DSTV, tea / coffee making facilities,
a hair dryer and bar fridge.
The room has a wonderful private patio leading out to the beautiful garden
with fantastic views of the small boat harbor.
Egyptian Room
The Egyptian Room is furnished with a double bed and the décor
is Egyptian. The room has a luxury private bathroom with a very large
bath, basin and large shower just across the passage.
The room has built in wardrobes with chairs. There is a TV with DSTV,
tea / coffee making facilities, a hair dryer and bar fridge.

How To Get To Dockside Guest House
From East London
150 Km from East London using the R72: If you are travelling from East
London you will pass the marina on your left and the small boat harbour.
Just before the Kowie River bridge turn right into Pascoe Crescent (if
you look to your right you will see our house which has a flat roof and
is painted white ).
Immediately turn right into the 1st street (Park Road) to your right.
Carry on to the right, up the hill and take the 1st road (Ferndale) to
your left and immediately 1st road (Caxton Lane) to your left.
Go down the steep hill and we are last house on the left. There are numerous
signs on the road to assist.
From Port Elizabeth
150 Km from Port Elizabeth using the R72: If you are travelling from Port
Elizabeth, after going through the robots as you drive over the Kowie
River bridge you will see our house.
Turn immediately after the bridge, 1st street to your left (Pascoe Crescent)
and immediately 1st street (Park Road) to your right.
Carry on to the right, up the hill and take the 1st road (Ferndale) to
your left and immediately 1st road (Caxton Lane) to your left. Go down
the steep hill and we are last house on the left.
From Johannesburg or the Free State
If you are travelling from Johannesburg the best route to take is via
Aliwal North, Jamestown, Queenstown. As you enter Queenstown take the
turn off to the right to Whittlesea, Fort Beaufort.
As you enter Fort Beaufort take the turn off to the right to Grahamstown.
As you approach Grahamstown following the sign to the left to Port Alfred.
On entering Port Alfred you will reach a stop street at a T-junction (East
London – Port Alfred). Turn right and you will pass the marina on
your left and the small boat harbour.
Just before the Kowie River bridge turn right into Pascoe Crescent (if
you look to your right you will see our house which has a flat roof and
is painted white ).

Carry on to the right, up the hill and take the 1st road (Ferndale) to
