Set in an Indigenous State Forest high on the hills with an awesome 180-degree view of the sea and estuary, Khululeka Retreat is just that.
We are hidden away in Pondoland on the Wild Coast, 10km up the coast from Port St. Johns.
There is no village, town, shops to detract from the beauty of one of the most spectacular and unspoiled traditional tribal rural areas in South Africa.
A pristine 2km beach, accessible by the Ntafufu River awaits your discovery.

Khululeka Retreat Accommodation

We offer self catering accommodation in singe / double rooms and in rondawels.
Rondawels / Traditional Huts
These are comfortably furnished traditional Pondo style hut with thatched roof.
.Single / Double Rooms
Are found in and around the main building where there is a number of furnished rooms.

The kitchen comes fully equipped, makes use of gas for appliances and candles for light which creates a fantastic, calm, relaxing and romantic atmosphere.
The dining hall is spacious and has a living space that opens to the verandah.
The veranda has great sea views and from the boma, guests can enjoy views of the sea and the estuary.

How To Get To Khululeka Retreat

From Pretoria / Johannesburg
Via Underberg: N3 - to Durban, at Howick take Exit 99 to Underberg. Follow the R617 to Underberg. R617 - Swartberg; R617 - Kokstad.
Drive straight through Kokstad and take the N2 - Mthatha. Take the turnoff on your left (± 10km from Kokstad); R394 - Bizana / Port St. Johns.
R61 - Flagstaff, R61 - Lusikisiki; 25km on with the R61 direction Port St. Johns. Left - Mtambalala, Ntafufu Mouth. Follow the main dirt road all the way for 9km. Welcome to Khululeka Retreat.
From Durban
N2 - South; Highway (toll road) - straight on past Port Shepstone to Port Edward. R61 - past the Wild Coast Sun; R61 - Bizana.
Turn left at the T-junction in Bizana; R61 - Magusheni, turn left at the T-junction direction Flagstaff. R61 - Flagstaff; R61 - Lusikisiki; 25km on with the R61 direction Port St. Johns.
On the left - Mtambalala, Ntafufu Mouth. Follow the main dirt road all the way for 9km. Welcome to Khululeka Retreat.
