River Edge Accommodation
Accommodation consists of Rock House 1, Rock House 2 and Rock House 3.
Each house boasts a trendy open-plan kitchen and lounge
with a cozy fireplace and LCD TV's with Premium DSTV, 2 bedrooms and 2
bathrooms. The interior has been given a contemporary kick with a palette
of neutrals peppered with bright coloured soft furnishings.
ROCK HOUSE 1 (Sleeps 6):
Rock House 1 has 2 bedrooms. Main queen bed with en-suite and the second
bedroom has 2 single beds. Two more guests can sleep on comfortable stack
beds, with proper mattresses in the lounge.
ROCK HOUSE 2 (Sleeps 8):
Rock House 2 has 2 bedrooms. Main queen bed with en-suite and the second
bedroom is a family room with a queen bed and a stack bed for 2 children.
Two more guests can sleep on comfortable stack beds, with proper mattresses
in the lounge
ROCK HOUSE 3 (Sleeps 6):
Rock House 3 has 2 bedrooms. Main queen bed with en-suite and the second
bedroom has 2 single beds. Two more guests can sleep on comfortable stack
beds, with proper mattresses in the lounge.
Things to do:
HIKING TRAIL:
Guests are welcome to wonder any place on the farm. The cement road parallel
to the entrance road is ideal to get a panoramic view.
KAYAKING:
Each house has a Kayak and an old fashion row boat. You are welcome to
use this equipment at your own risk. For an organized group trip on the
Breede River.
FISHING:
The best Bass fishing spot ever. Bring your rod, tackle and bait. Please
note that we operate on a “tag & release” system. Other
species in the river are: Carp, Bluegill, etc.
MOUNTAIN BIKING:
You are welcome to ride any place on the farm (the cement road parallel
to the entrance road is ideal) or get a permit from Mari Ackerman at Demars,
Wolseley for the Kluitjieskraal Mountain Bike trail 15 km or 41 km (not
an easy ride).
DINING:
Calabash Bush Pub and Restaurant:
Situated at the entrance of Bainskloof pass. Open 7 days a week. Salads,
Pizzas, Pastas, Burgers, Steaks, Seafood etc. (2km)
Bergsig Bistro:
Bergsig Wine Estate offers a hearty breakfast, freshly baked cakes and
delicious home-cooked lunches. (2km)
Opstal Wine Estate:
Offers "fresh tasty Cape Cuisine with flair"
RIETDAKKIE FARM STALL:
Situated on the R43 between Worcester and Wolseley this Boland farm stall
offers the freshest of what's in season. From waterblommetjies, nuts,
jams to farm baked bread.
WINE:
Our new exciting wine area called Breedekloof boasts several wine estates
and cellars. The closest are Bergsig Wine Estate, Lateganskop Cellar,
Mountain Ridge Cellar, Opstal Wine Estate and Botha Cellar.
