Welcome to Figtree Lane LodgeFigtree Lane Lodge was established in 2001 and is owned by Alta Malan. This up-market guesthouse is located in the leafy suburb of Meerensee. It has a warm and homely atmosphere and the established gardens provide for an abundance of birdlife. Richards Bay is conveniently placed between Durban and the game reserves in northern KwaZulu Natal and has one of the largest harbours in South Africa. |

Figtree Lane Lodge shelters in the shade of mature fig trees. This executive guesthouse with five exclusive self-catering units is situated within walking distance of the main beach. It provides ideal accommodation for business, leisure and sporting events.
Figtree Lane Lodge is located close to various prestigious hotels, restaurants and shops. The en-suite double rooms with balconies and private entrances are well appointed. The guesthouse consists of five self-catering units of various sizes, the largest unit catering for six persons.
Three units are wheelchair friendly. There are also six en-suite bedrooms, four upstairs with private balconies and two on the ground level. The rooms are serviced on a daily basis.
A small conference facility caters for up to eighteen people. Shaded and secure parking for eighteen vehicles is provided behind an automated gate. A security guard patrols the premises at night. Dinner, lunch and breakfast (set menus) are served at Figtree Lane Lodge.
The dining hall extends onto an open deck where guests can also enjoy drinks from the licensed bar. Internet access (Wi-Fi) is available free of charge in all the units and rooms as well as in the conference centre and the dining room.
• The popular Dolosfees takes place in April annually.
• The Zululand Expo takes place annually in August/September.
• The Hippo Rally takes place annually in September in Richards
Bay.
• Fishing competitions such as the 21 Species and the Bonanza take
place throughout the year.
• The International Triathlon Championships are held in Richards
Bay annually and can be viewed from the lodge.
• Water sports including boating, are well catered for. In Richards
Bay there are facilities for all types of yachting, dinghy racing, boating
and all water borne sports such as canoeing, jet skiing, kite surfing,
surf-skiing, all within a three kilometre radius.
