Villa Ticino Guest House has been awarded a 3 Star Grading
with great comfort in the Guest House category by the Tourism Grading
Council of South Africa.
When entering the property, a winding walkway leads past lush greenery
and decorative objects up to the spacious European style villa situated
on a slope. Here guests are personally welcomed by their Swiss/German
hosts and original owners Felix and Ute, who have been running Villa Ticino
for nearly 20 years with pride, passion and dedication.
The entrance area is reminiscent of a typical Ticino country village scene
with fountain, statues, benches and murals. From the front door the eye
is led through the hall from the welcome sign to the staircase, leading
upwards into our guesthouse that is full of character.
A staircase directs the way up to the attractive split-level guest lounge
with an open fireplace, snooker table as well as a small library with
books and magazines.
The mood of this space is rather a soothing, homely and calm effect due
to the high wooden ceilings and the wide open-plan design. Comfortable
upholstered settees and chairs invite to linger and relax.
History:
Villa Ticino Guest House was established in 1992 and is still managed
and run by their original owners Felix & Ute Durmuller who personally
welcome and attend to travellers from all around the globe.
Felix, a passionate breakfast chef, lovingly prepares our very popular
set speciality breakfast which changes daily. A delicious breakfast buffet
is also offered consisting of fresh fruits, fruit juices, cereals, yoghurts,
a variety of different breads, cold meat, cheeses, jams and home bakes,
as well as a choice of teas and of course our special Ticino blend of
coffee.
Our coffee has become a trade mark of Villa Ticino and is highly praised
by our coffee connoisseur guests from all over the world. Breakfast is
served on separate set tables from 07h30 to 09h00, either in our spacious
breakfast room or in warmer weather al fresco whilst enjoying the beautiful
Mpumalanga Drakensberg mountain vistas and listening to chirping birds.
In assisting to make it easier to find your way around a compiled directory
of useful information is displayed in each of our guest rooms.
Furthermore, we have an array of menus on display in our information area.
Naturally, we lend a hand with choosing the restaurant to suite your tastes
and palates and assist with bookings as well.
At our Information Corner free e-mail Internet access is available via
our Laptop during office hours or wireless e-mail access via your own
device at any time. Should you celebrate your anniversary, birthday or
honeymoon whilst staying with us at Villa Ticino, please advise us accordingly
in advance for a little surprise.
Once here and on request we also provide our guests with comprehensive
