the beach, 20 minutes from Stellenbosch, 35 minutes from Cape Town International
Airport and 50 minutes from Cape Town city centre.
We’re pleased to announce that we’ve just been awarded 4-star
rating by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa and Luxury status
by Portfolio.

Escape to the tranquil setting of Lalapanzi Lodge and wake up to the

Choose between our recently renovated luxury B&B accommodation in
the main lodge or our recent renovated exclusive self-catering lodges.
Luxury B&B rooms and suites in the main lodge
The main lodge has been designed with the style conscious guest in mind.
Our philosophy while renovating the lodge was to keep it simple, modern
and stylish while retaining the warmth and character of a solid log cabin.
The lodge now boasts four luxury en-suite rooms and one luxury suite which
come with a hearty cooked or continental breakfast.

No children under the age of 12 allowed in the main lodge. All linen and
towels, including beach towels are provided and rooms are serviced daily.

Exclusive self-catering lodges
Hide yourself away from the world in one of our solid log self-catering
lodges. Both lodges have been designed with the style conscious guest
in mind. Both lodges have fully equipped open plan kitchen, a lounge with
satellite TV & fireplace, 3 bedrooms, 2 or 3 bathrooms and a braai
area in your own private garden.
There’s also a large balcony from which you can enjoy the same panoramic
views of False Bay & the Hottentots Holland Mountains as the main
lodge.

Conferences, events, functions, weddings
Lalapanzi Lodge is a great venue for all kinds of events. We can host
anything from mini-conferences, workshops and team-building programmes,
to sundowners, functions and weddings.
The lodge can be used in a number of different ways depending on your
requirements. We have a fully equipped conference room that holds up to
20 people. A cosy living room for more informal meetings or breakaway
sessions. A large stoep which can be used for business lunches, wedding
ceremonies, sundowners an drinks parties. A lapa, braai and pool area
for lazy afternoon lunches and functions.
If you’re planning on bringing a group away for a team building
session we can help you plan all kinds of activities.

Wine and dine with a spectacular view
Perched high above False bay with some of the most stunning views in the
Western Cape is Lalapanzi Lodge’s intimate dining room. Relax with
a bottle of wine from one of the many local vineyards and treat yourself
to a delicious home-made meal prepared with seasonal ingredients from
the region.
Dinner can be served by the fireplace in winter or on the stoep complete
with outstanding sunset in the summer. The open plan kitchen enables you
to see the chef preparing your meal, he may even share a few of his culinary
secrets.
Our dining room holds a maximum of 20 people and is for our guests only.
We’re open for dinner three nights a week and on request only,
the other nights we will be serving a simple meal. Advanced booking is
necessary.
Explore the Cape Winelands and surrounds
Situated on a 17 ha pine farm close to Somerset West and Sir Lowry’s
Pass, and surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in the Western
Cape, Lalapanzi Lodge is a great place to unwind or use as a base to explore
the Cape.
Even if you don’t leave the estate you won’t struggle to entertain
yourself. Take a leisurely stroll around our pine farm. Chill out by the
pool with views over the Hottentots Holland Mountains and the sea.
Hike around the game park, part of the Wedderwill Country Estate which
we’re situated on. Relax on the balcony of the main lodge with a
glass of wine while watching the black eagles, fish eagles and a whole
variety of kestrels, kites and other local wildlife.
Or if you want to get out and about a few of the activities available
close by include:
Horseback riding
Outrides around our neighbours vineyards, with great views over the ocean.
We can book this for you or you can contact them directly.
Golf
There are multiple golf courses close-by variating from a couple of minutes
drive to half a hour.
Golf at Arabella in Kleinmond
Water skiing
Cable water skiing, scuba diving and volleyball all around a lovely lake
in Sir Lowry's Pass.

From the N2
Driving on the N2, turn off at Sir Lowry’s Pass Village at the foot
of the Pass: from Cape Town, it’s 5km after Somerset West on the
left, at the moment the sign is not up due to road works, please turn
left when you see a sign Gordon's Bay. From George, turn right at the
bottom of the pass when you see the sign Gordon's Bay.
Follow that road through the village and go over the railway tracks. Immediately
turn right. Take the first left (after 200m) onto a brick road. The sign
on the corner says ‘Wedderwill’.
Approx 1 km along this brick road, take the left road just before Knorhoek
Estate. Pass a pond on your left and go through the Wedderwill gate house.
Follow the brick road up the hill for 1.2km and turn left into Lalapanzi
Lodge (Farm 3) which is oddly enough after Farm 1, 2 and 4.
From Somerset West
Drive east along Main Road heading towards Sir Lowry's Pass. Drive all
the way through Somerset West and past the robots and circles (traffic
lights and roundabouts if you're not South African). Past the ABSA bank
on your left and the Pick 'N' Pay on your right.
Continue on Main Road and at the robot/traffic light by Vergelegen Medi
Clinic turn left onto the M9 Sir Lowry's Pass Road.
Continue on the road to Sir Lowry's Pass Village (about 5km). Pass Journey's
End. Go through the village and 200m after the Journey's End sign take
the first left onto a red brick road. The sign on the corner says 'Wedderwill'
and there's a building behind that called 'Kingdom builders ministries'.
Approx 1 km along this brick road, take the left road just before Knorhoek
Estate. Pass a pond on your left and go through the Wedderwill gate house.
Follow the brick road up the hill for 1.2km and turn left into Lalapanzi
Lodge (Farm 3) which is oddly enough after Farm 1, 2 and 4.
