At the Woods Guest House in Storms River Village, Tsitsikamma
offers upmarket accommodation and a relaxing and comfortable base
from which to explore the Tsitsikamma and surrounding areas.

This interesting, upmarket property offers 8 rooms, all with en-suite
bathrooms with a large walk in shower.

Set in the tranquil village of Storms river, we offer 8 guest rooms,
all individually decorated, with every effort made to ensure guest satisfaction
and comfort.
The upstairs bedrooms have their own decks, whilst the downstairs bedrooms
open onto private patios. Most rooms have mountain views.
Double doors and large windows ensure that the rooms are light and airy.
All bedrooms are equipped with a refreshment tray, offering tea or coffee
and your own bar fridge gives you access to fresh milk, cold drinks as
well as storage space for your own water and fruit. Rooms offer either
twin or a king-size bed, depending on the needs of the guests.
The linen is of a high standard, and beds have a duvet and blanket to
ensure a comfortable night´s rest. Ceiling fans and wall heaters
will keep you content, no matter what the season.
All rooms have a small wall-safe for the guests´ convenience and
televisions with select DSTV channels.
The Guest House faces the impressive Storms River peak,
and the dining room and deck encourage one to sit and enjoy the ever-changing
views of the mountain.
The downstairs rooms have French doors opening out onto
verandas facing the garden, and upstairs rooms have their own private
decks, offering superb views of the Tsitsikamma mountains and the village.
All rooms have tea/coffee making facilities, TV with select DSTV channels,
bar fridges, wall safes and ceiling fans.
The bedrooms are individually decorated, and every effort has been made
to ensure guest satisfaction and comfort.

Facilities and Activities
At the Woods Guesthouse - DINING
Breakfast awaits and is served al fresco as often as possible. An array
of fruit, cereals, yoghurts and fresh juices is followed by a cooked breakfast,
prepared individually for our guests. We also offer a simple picnic lunch
for those setting out on a walk or long-drive.
This consists of a sandwich, muffin, piece of fruit and a chocolate bar.
At the Woods has a selection of wine and beer for the guests to enjoy,
either as a pre-dinner drink or with their meal. We can also make reservations
for guests at the restaurants in the area.
Bev and Marco will prepare a 2 course supper for you,
making use of as much local produce as possible.
Dinner will be served in the dining room, with a roaring fire, or can
be enjoyed on the deck during the warmer months.
Breakfast is served in the dining room, or on the deck
facing Storms River Peak, weather permitting.
Guests are invited to make use of the two lounges on offer, enjoy the
peace of the garden, take a refreshing dip in the swimming pool or sip
a glass of wine on the large deck. There is Internet and WiFi available
for guests use, as well as a laundry service.
The surrounding area offers a variety of activities
to keep the guest entertained - from peaceful walks in the unspoilt Tsitsikamma
forests, to unusual activities such as the Treetop Canopy Tour, the world’s
highest bungee jump off Bloukrans Bridge or a visit to The Fernery at
Forest Ferns.
The Tsitsikamma National Park is a must see, and guests can enjoy the
walk along the boardwalk to the suspension bridge across the Storms River
Mouth, or take on the challenge of the 6km Waterfall Walk - along the
start of the world famous Otter Trail.
For birding enthusiasts, the Narina Trogan, Knysna Turaco
(Loerie) and Victorin’s Warbler are all seen in close proximity
to the village, and At the Woods Guest House can offer guided forest walks
by registered tour guides from the premises.
Learn about the Velvet Worm, Star Stinkhorn and other fascinating forest
dwellers. Our desire is that guests will feel at home enough to slip off
their shoes, whilst enjoying the attention to detail.
Your hosts Bev and Marco have a thorough knowledge of, and passion for
the area, and can offer advice and personal experiences of all that is
on offer.
WHERE TO EAT IN THE AREA?
LUNCH: Fynboshoek Cheese Farm is a well-kept
secret of the Tsitsikamma, and if you have the time, don't miss out on
this lunch option.
The setting is awesome - relax on a terrace overlooking a dam, the food
sublime - homemade cheeses (that have won international awards!), breads
and home-grown salad followed by something sweet and coffee. Limited wine
list, but you are welcome to take your own.

Finebush Farm - if you are looking for something fresh
& tasty, try one of Carla's informal lunches - cold meats, cheeses,
open sandwiches - all enjoyed on the farm.
No reservations required. Indigenous nursery and farm stall to peruse.
The Coffee Pot - situated just down the road, this simple
venue is a favourite of village locals looking for good value. They offer
home-made cakes, toasted sandwiches and "russians and chips".
Annetjie's cheese cake is legendary!
LUNCH & DINNER: De Oude Martha and Café Bacchus
at the Protea Hotel Tsitsikamma Village - open for tea, lunch and dinner.
A la Carte. Easy walking distance from At the Woods. Tsitsikamma National
Park Restaurant - a la Carte options for tea, lunch or dinner at this
restaurant, with one of the most beautiful settings in the world. Rafters
Restaurant offers unpretentious South African dishes. Open for lunches
and dinner. Easy walking distance from At the Woods. Reservations recommended.
DINNER ONLY Tsitsikamma Lodge offers a five-course buffet
of South African dishes - to be enjoyed in their timber dining room with
huge log fire. Good selection of wines. Open for dinner. By reservation
only.
TAKE- AWAYS Steers Fast Foods at the PetroPort. Travel
4 km east on the N2, and here you will find a 24 hour take-away outlet
as well as a convenience store.
Directions to At the Woods Guest House
From Plettenberg Bay:
From Plett, travel east on the N2 for 65 km and then take the turn–off
to your right signposted Storms River Village.
From Port Elizabeth:
From Port Elizabeth, travel west on the N2, cross over the Storms River
Bridge, and about 4km on, take the turn-off to your left signposted Storms
River Village. We are the 4th property on the right hand side, on the
corner of the road you are on and Formosa Street.
