Comfortably nestled in the peaceful avenues of the Strand and within easy walking distance of the Strand's white beaches, this 110 year old Victorian home offers excellent self-catering facilities and accommodation.

It is a golfer's paradise with more than 25 golf courses within easy striking distance not to mention a host of other sporting activities close by.
Chameleon Lodge has been licensed and approved by Cape Town Tourism. It is affiliated to the RCI Time Share organisation.

Chameleon Lodge Accommodation

Chameleon Lodge boasts two luxury units, both with secure off-street parking and one unit (semi-self catering) which is suitable for business people.

The main units include satellite TV, direct dial telephone and separate internet jacks, fax machines, fans (and or air conditioner) and heaters, hot water bottles, hair driers, safes, fully equipped kitchens and barbecue facilities with private outdoor entertainment areas.

All linen is supplied (apart from beach towels) and the units are lightly serviced on a daily basis (except week-ends and public holidays). There is a laundry facility on the premises and the use of a freezer is available if required.

THE COTTAGE:
The Cottage has two bedrooms and sleeps 2 adults and 2 children in a bunk bed.

Bordering on the salt-water plunge pool, Chameleon Cottage has its own secluded barbecue and entertainment area. The main bedroom can be made up with two single beds or one luxurious king size bed, depending on client preference.

ZEBRA ROOM:
The Zebra Room has two single beds, a kitchenette, private balcony and bathroom.

The Zebra Room is ideal for anyone who just wants to relax for the night, it has a private open balcony, bathroom and kitchenette. A telephone and internet line are readily available for use.

LOFT:
Our Loft Suite sleeps 2 adults and can also accommodate a child on the sofa.

The luxurious air conditioned Loft Suite offers an open plan living area with en-suite bath and shower facilities. The single bed size sofa can be made up to accommodate a child / teenager. The large adjoining sun deck is the perfect setting for intimate breakfasts and romantic sunsets (shared with a tipple of excellent Cape wine).

JACKALS LAIR:
Jackal's Lair is the perfect luxury self catering holiday home for up to 6 people including children. It has 3 bedrooms with main en-suite and is only 250m from the Strand’s stunning white beaches and close to all amenities. It features a salt water pool, Jacuzzi / spa and outdoor barbecue.

ROOM FACILITIES
Guests can access the internet free of charge at our offices at Chameleon Lodge which is close by. Ashtrays are provided for smokers to smoke outside in the entertainment area. No smoking is permitted indoors.
The house is serviced lightly each working day – aside from weekends and public holidays. There is DSTV (full suite) with dual view in the family area and main bedroom abd there is a telephone in the main bedroom.

LOCAL ACTIVITIES:
Chameleon Lodge is 1km from the beach (as the crow flies!)
- Beauty salons nearby.
- Cycling trails close by.
- The Grand West Casino is about 25 minutes away.
- Local entertainment available at Spier and Somerset West Play House Theatre.
- Fishing in False Bay.
- There are 4 excellent golf courses close by including “Erinvale” which hosted the world cup tournament some years back.
- Virgin Active health club is close by and vouchers are sold through our office at Chameleon Lodge if required.
- There are many hiking trails in and around the Helderberg.
- We are within 5 minutes drive of the Somerset Mall and its wide choice of shops.
- Various local tours are available.
- If you are a qualified Scuba Diver our "in-house" Dive Master will happily arrange and lead your dives.

The Wine route is nearby.

Chameleon Lodge is a popular choice of tourists looking for the flexibility of self-catering accommodation, as it is only a 20 minute drive to Cape Town International Airport, 30 minutes from the hustle and bustle of central Cape Town, 15 minutes from historic Stellenbosch and its famous wine route and 45 minutes to Hermanus (for whale watching).

DIRECTIONS:
Take the R44(To Stellenbosch and Strand) off the N2 and head towards the beach. You will have Somerset Mall on your left hand side.
Keep in the right hand lane and at the second set of traffic lights after the Mall turn right along Beach Road. You will have the Strand Golf Course on your left at this point.
On Beach Road, once you are running parallel to the sea look for the first set of traffic lights. Turn left into Da Gama Street and head on up till you get to Herschell Street - turn right and you will soon be at Chameleon Lodge on the corner of Herschell and Diaz Streets.
