Dating back to 1853, Schoone Oordt is a voluptuous, meticulously restored Victorian homestead presiding over 5,000m2 of lush grounds in the quaint farming town of Swellendam.
Perfectly positioned between Cape Town and the Garden Route, Swellendam is the ideal stopover or weekend break from the hustle and bustle of the city as well as a destination unto itself.

Schoone Oordt's grounds house eight magnificently crafted, luxurious suites, a romantic honeymoon hideaway and a private, spacious family suite set amongst tranquil fountains, fragrant gardens, manicured lawns and an invigorating salt-water pool.
Each room is fitted with a modern convenience whilst retaining the Victorian feel of the manor house and a bygone era.

Standard Suite
The two standard suites have all the amenities of the luxury suites, are accessible from the back and inter leading through the balcony, and are affordable for families or friends traveling together.
They do not, however, need to be booked together.

Luxury Suite
Positioned around fragrant rose gardens, fountains & landscaped shrubbery are six luxurious suites that have their own patios. Whilst the suites retain the Victorian feel of the main house, they are uncluttered and exude luxurious style and elegance.

Honeymoon Suite
The honeymoon suite is tucked away on the edge of a shady forest with the Koornlands River gurgling along at its perimeter. The honeymoon suite is unashamedly romantic with its large hearth, exquisitely carved four-poster bed and oversized bathroom.

Family Cottage
The family cottage is at the top end of the property, private, cosy and set apart from other guests
As well as the luxurious treats of the other rooms, it offers a small kitchenette for warming bottles and making sandwiches.

Directions to Schoone Oordt Country House
From Cape Town out on the N2, take the third Swellendam exit Swellendam East
Travel downhill past the Drostdy Museum complex.
Cross over a three-way stop. Just after the Koornlands River bridge turn right.
This will be just before a small park with Swellendam written in white brick.
Schoone Oordt Country House is on the right. You can't miss it.
