Only 2.5 hours away from Pretoria and malaria free we invite you to leave behind the stress and strain of the city and experience the unspoilt wilderness of the Waterberg Biosphere. Waterberg Cottages is a family-orientated establishment and we have many activities to keep the kids occupied. The area offers plenty for the actively inclined, with four canoes
provided for boating on the dams, and a range of walks including
a marked trail over the nearby Kopje which offers lovely views over
the Melk river valley, and reveals two further dams that guest are
welcome to fish. |

Elegant double-storey cottage with spacious double volume living area,
both the stoep and the master bedroom have amazing views. Full access
to heated swimming pool, children's jungle gym, trampoline, sandpit and

Butterfly Cottage x 1
Self-catering
Romantic thatched cottage with a romantic double bedroom that leads to
a spacious open-plan living/dining/kitchen area, with a private braai
area outside. Full access to heated swimming pool, children's jungle gym,
trampoline, sandpit and romantic walks in the bush. (Prices do not include
catering and activities)
Kudu Lodge x 1
Self-catering
This cottage is situated 8 kilometers away from the main cottages, about
20m away from the house you will find a dam where you can fish and use
the canoes to paddle around to spot the Fish Eagles, darters, Kingfishers
and many other species of bird in the area. You will also find marked
walking trails and come back to sit around a relaxing fire and gaze upon
a clear studded sky while listening to the sounds of the African bush.
Two double / twin en suite rooms; two bunk rooms, each with 3 double bunks, one of these rooms is en suite, with the other having a separate bathroom. There is an open- plan kitchen / dining area and a stoep with amazing views of the dam. (Prices do not include catering and activities)
Windsong Cottage x 1
Self-catering
Built in the 1920's, this historic thatched farmhouse has been converted
to self-catering accommodation, while retaining its original features
and hosts a delightful range of antique furniture. It has a large stoep
area, dining room, pantry, kitchen and 4 bedrooms with a sunken braai
area outside so you are able to enjoy a relaxed evening around the fire
and listen to the bush sounds.
Bed arrangements are flexible according to bookings. Full access to heated swimming pool, children's jungle gym, trampoline, sandpit and beautiful walks in the bush. (Prices do not include catering and activities)

Activities from Waterberg Cottages
The area offers plenty for the actively inclined, with four canoes
provided for boating on the dams, and a range of walks including a marked

Other nearby activities include ‘Big 5’ game drives, feeding the orphan white rhino at the Waterberg Rhino Museum, elephant backed game viewing, and spectacular helicopter flights over the Waterberg escarpment.
Activities available on site: Relaxing at Boschdraai, Astronomy, Charles Baber’s Farm Tour, Visiting the Hippo and Beadle, the Waterberg’s Local Craft Shop.
Activities on site at no additional cost: Canoeing at Kudu Lodge, swimming, tennis, bird watching and walks without a guide, fishing.
