Clearwater Lodges Accommodation
Clearwater offers two unique and charming lodges.
Each lodge consists of three exquisite private chalets and one double
unit, accommodating a maximum of ten guests.
Tshetshepi Lodge is situated in the heart of the bush along the slow meandering
Taaibos River, where the Chachma baboons descend the overhanging cliffs
to drink from its cool, clear waters.
KUDU LODGE is set overlooking a vast open area and waterhole
with endless mountain views on the horizon.
The abundance of game in front of the lodge provides continual hours of
game viewing from the comfort of your room’s deck.
Accommodation for a maximum of ten guests is in 5 doubles rooms including
three single units and a family unit (with two bedrooms).
All units have a separate bathroom (2 in the case of the family unit),
including an outdoor shower.
Guests can indulge in the beauty and tranquillity from their own personal
deck outside their bedroom.
Kudu Lodge retains a unique ambience, largely due to its beautiful setting,
and the inimitable hospitality and character shared by the staff.
TSHETSHEPI LODGE is hidden against the mountainside amongst
lush indigenous tress, each chalet enjoying the tranquil trickle of a
mountain stream.
Accommodation for a maximum of ten guests is in 5 doubles rooms including
three single units and a family unit (with two bedrooms).
All units have a separate bathroom (2 in the case of the family unit),
including an outdoor shower.
Guests can indulge in the beauty and tranquillity from their own personal
deck outside their bedroom.
Whilst both lodges are similar in respect of facilities, number of rooms
and room types, they each retain a unique ambience, largely due to their
beautiful settings, and the inimitable hospitality and character shared
by the staff at each lodge.

Directions to Clearwater Lodges
On leaving Johannesburg International Airport, take the R21 to Pretoria.
Follow signs and take turn-off to Pietersburg/Mokopong (Pretoria East/Pietersburg)
You will get to the first tollgate, Pumulani Plaza
You will pass under a Petrolport bridge over the highway.
Continue to the next tollgate, Carousel Plaza. Please contact us from
the Carousel Plaza.
By phoning us we can ensure that we are there to meet you when you arrive
at the Reserve MAIN gate, avoiding a wait of approximately 35 minutes.
Continue to the Kranskop Plaza Toll Gate. Keep left to enable you to exit
the highway, turn left at the stop, towards Nylstroom/Modimolle (R33)
Follow signs that indicate to Nylstroom/Modimolle. (+/- 12km)
Drive straight through Nylstroom/Modimolle towards Vaalwater (about 60km)
Drive straight through Vaalwater.
At the TOTAL Garage (Farrant’s service station), continue straight
towards Thabazimbi, DO NOT take the R33 turn-off to Ellisras.
Approximately 24kms out of Vaalwater is the Welgevonden MAIN gate sign.
The Welgevonden Main Gate will be on your left hand side.
Please ignore any other gates as you must enter at the Main gate.
At the gate you will be requested to complete a reserve indemnity form.
Please state that you will be visiting Clearwater Lodges.
Please park your car under one of the trees.
It will be safe.
