The Lodge is an exclusive guesthouse (Bed & Breakfast) nestled on the hillside of Wilderness, overlooking the spectacular Island Lake and the mountains beyond.
Guests are offered internationally competitive exclusivity in both the guesthouse and the adjoining Wellness Spa. Relax in the lounge area and gaze out onto the rim flow pool and the expanse of lake beyond.
This luxurious guesthouse offers guests five luxuriously appointed rooms.

Each room boasts private bath and shower and a private balcony offering an undisturbed view over the lake from Wilderness and the imposing mountain range of the Garden Route.

The luxurious rooms in the guesthouse are individually and tastefully decorated in predominantly earthy tones. The Honeymoon Suite is a painstaking labour of love is not reserved for honeymooner alone, those in search of rekindling are welcome to partake of the suite and indulge in the comfort and luxury of the four-poster bed and the free-standing stone bath.

The rooms - Overview:
The Lodge has 5 magnificently appointed rooms, each with full en-suite bathroom, balcony and unsurpassed views over the lake below and the surrounding mountains.
The rooms have been individually decorated in sophisticated style with earthy undertones. Not only honeymooners can indulge in the luxury and space of the Honeymoon Suite with its 4 poster bed and free-standing stone bath.

Room 1 - Cormorant Room:
Large and luxurious room with private bath and shower. Offers breathtaking views of Island Lake from Wildeness and ever-changing Outeniqua Mountains of the Garden Route from balcony. Earthy tones and selected pieces adorn this elegant room.
Equipped with minibar, satellite TV, safe, telephone and tea and coffee-making facilities.

Room 2 - Loerie Room:
Large and luxurious room with two free-standing designer basins and oval bath, embedded in marble tiles for pure elegance and luxury. The large mirror, visible from both bathroom and bedroom invites light into the room and makes it an elegant focal point of the room.
As in the other rooms, the unforgettable expanse of Africa from the balcony. Equipped with minibar, satellite TV, safe, telephone and tea and coffee-making facilities.

Room 3 - Honeymoon Suite | Giant Kingfisher-Room
Luxurious Honeymoon Suite with exclusive fittings and furnishing. A fairytale four poster bed and free standing stone bath form the nucleus of this enclave, together with private shower and toilet clad in marble tiles.
From a large balcony of the Honeymoon Suite views of the lake from Wilderness and the mountains of the Garden Route, fauna and flora are breathtaking.

Room 4 - Albatross Room:
Luxurious room with private bath and shower clad in marble tiles. The room is adorned with elements of modern renaissance.
The balcony offers splendid views of lake from Wilderness and spectacular mountains of the Garden Route , and offers the opportunity to indulge in African flora and fauna, with an array of indigenous birds.

Room 5 - Fish Eagle Room:
Large luxurious room with a cosy corner bath and private shower clad in exquisite marble. subtle indigenous décor with complementary modern elements.
The queen size bed is unique and is adorned with round mirrors.
The combination of dark furniture and white wooden flooring lends the room a warm and cosy feel. The balcony affords a magnificent African sunrise in Wilderness and the promise of warmth throughout the day ahead.

Wilderness - Information:
The small village is also known to the locals simply as Eden. It is situated between Knysna and George. The beautiful beaches and the Indian Ocean make this wonderful place to a well known destination for tourists from all over the world.
The small village at the N2 is nestled into a fascinating landscape with lakes, dunes, lagoons and the Quteniqua Mountains. It is a central tourist destination which is situated directly at the world-famous Garden Route. From here you can easily reach the cities of Knysna, Port Elizabeth, George and Sedgefield.

The Touws River flows through Wilderness and together with other small waters it forms as already mentioned, the Lagoon.
The warm water of the Indian Ocean as well as the unique panorama of the mountains and the endless beaches turns your stay in Wilderness into a very special experience. The idyllic atmosphere of Wilderness is created by its small restaurants and the weekly crafts market at Milkwood Village.

Wilderness - what to do:
The Garden Route stretches along the cost of South Africa from Hermanus in the province of the Western Cape to Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape.

Directions:
From George Airport (25 minutes by car)
(flights available ex Cape Town and Johannesburg)
· Exit the airport, turn right towards N2
· Turn left onto N2 heading in the direction of George
· Continue on the N2 past George
· Follow the N2 through the Kaaimans Pass
· Pass through the small village of Wilderness on the N2
· Look out for Caltex petrol/gas station on your right
· 1km beyond Caltex, turn Left into North street
· Turn immediately right at T-junction to continue with North Street
· Lodge on the Lake is No. 746 North Street

From Cape Town (approx. 4 and a 1/2 hours by car)
· Follow N2 from Cape Town to Wilderness (approx. 500 km) following signs for George for 480km
· Pass by George on the N2
· Pass through the small village of Wilderness on the N2
· Look out for Caltex petrol/gas station on your right
· 1km beyond Caltex, turn Left into North street
· Turn immediately right at T-junction to continue with North Street
· Lodge on the Lake is No. 746 North Street

From Plettenberg Bay (approx. 1 and a 1/2 hours by car)
(Note: Lodge on the Lake in a little bit BEFORE the town of Wilderness, as shown on a map.
· Follow N2 from Plettenberg Bay continuing through Knysna
· Approx. 15 minutes after passing through Sedgefield on the N2, look out for a sign for Kleinkrantz on your left
· Pass by the sign for Kleinkrantz, but look out for the sign for North Street on your right one km beyond
· Turn right into North Street
· Turn immediately right at T-junction to continue with North Street
· Lodge on the Lake is No. 746 North Street.
