Palms – Wilderness offers you 4 star accommodation in individually decorated rooms. Creating an ambience of subtle luxury & coziness. Every detail has been thought of to ensure that you are comfortable and at home.

Facilities include:
Electric blankets, for those cold rainy nights, air-conditioning and/or ceiling fans, quilted throws, mohair blankets, luxurious duvets, percale linen, snug bathrobes, decanters with Boplaas Port, safes, telephones, bar fridges, coffee stations with filter coffee, home-made biscuits and fresh milk, all to contribute to your comfort.

All the rooms offer en suite facilities and private entrances into the gardens. The main house, under thatch, offers a homely lounge with plush sofas, satellite television, DVD player, library, internet facilities and honesty bar.
Our lush indigenous gardens with koi & gold fish ponds, water fountains, swimming pool and bird feeders attract both humans and feathered inhabitants!

PALMS RETREAT SPA:
The Palms Retreat Spa is situated in the picturesque Wilderness at the Palms Retreat – guest house, in close proximity to George and Sedgefield in South Africa’s beautiful Garden Route.

The Palms Spa is a unique facility, with a philosophy of a natural, hands on approach to well-being, enabling the ultimate relief and benefit to the body.
We have everything to nurture your body to health and restore peace to your soul. We offer a range of selected therapies for each person’s individual needs that are based upon physical, mental and emotional well-being.

The treatments includes massages and beauty treatments, with the emphasis on couples treatments. Working with natural herbs and plant extracts, our internationally qualified therapists believe in pampering and spoiling the body, giving you the opportunity to also give your mind and soul a break from the hectic, stressful schedules of everyday life, a change to find yourself again.

Having a skin that is well looked after, a vivacious appearance and anti-stress treatments are an absolute necessity and simply a luxury.

You are in essence buying a time slot during which you can escape stress and rejuvenate body and mind and have an experience that you will not find anywhere else.

Things to do:
Take a day drive to Knysna & Plettenberg Bay. Hike the Robberg Reserve along the cliffs of the Robberg Mountain (not for the faint-hearted though!!) or visit Monkey Land, Elephant Sanctuary or Birds of Eden.
Do a game drive at the Rhino Base Camp OR Botlierskop – viewing wild life from an open land rover with a qualified guide.

Stop off at “the Big Tree” in the Millwood Forest, take the ferry to Featherbed reserve, do some dolphin/whale watching, shark diving or deep sea fishing.

Take a steam train ride to Mosselbay or take a trip on the “power-van” up the Outeniqua Mountains. Unfortunately the track to Knysna has been damaged and current the tjoo-choo is not running in that direction.
For the more adventurous you can do some paragliding or bungee jumping!
The real bonus of staying at the Palms – Wilderness is that we are in close proximity to the most spectacular mountain ranges, scenery and off the beaten track areas. You can even rent a BMW motorcycle and explore our mountain passes and forests.

Play golf at any of the world renowned golf courses within driving distance from the Palms. George Country Club, Fancourt, Oubaai, Knysna Golf Club, Pezula Championship Course, Plettenberg Bay Country Club or Simola Country Club.

We offer customized golfing tours for those who prefer the freedom to choose exactly what they want for their holiday and golfing.
Palms Wilderness is the ideal base from which these courses can be explored. We also assist with accommodation at affiliated hotels in the area, vehicle hire, transfers, club rentals & golf lessons with our local PGA Pro.

We do NOT stock “curios” but special and individual items.

Directions to Palms Wilderness Retreat:
Off the N2 into the village of Wilderness. (Right from Knysna. Left from George) Drive along George Road past Caltex Fuel Station, Pomodoro Restaurant.
Palms Wilderness across from the Protea Hotel to your right. Turn right at the small road next to the park. Palms on your right with outside off-street parking.

ABOUT US:
It was a great challenge for us to leave “the bush” after 17 years and follow our dream to start our very own guest house in Wilderness. We have endeavored to create a personalized, cozy retreat for our guests to unwind and relax in. The original house was built in 1920 and now offers our guests cozy, welcoming accommodation in a tranquil oasis of relaxation.
