Vryheid Cottage is a charming 19th century farm house on the working farm Vryheid.
Vryheid is on the R 340 road on the way to the rural town of Wittedrift situated 7.5km from Plettenberg Bay and 11km from Keurboomsstrand.
The farm borders on the Bitou river and the Bitou wetland, with it's hunderds of birds makes it a birder paradise.

Wittedrift is a small quiet town. Wittedrift is in the Western Cape and is part of the Garden Route.
The nearest town to Wittedrift is Plettenberg Bay which is about 7.5km away, there you will be able to enjoy a game of golf on the local course.
There are a variety of guided trails of different abilities and lengths that can be taken of the Robberg Marine Reserve where fishing with a permit is also allowed.

Nearby Wittedrift is the famous Knysna Elephant Park where you can touch, feed and photograph these magnificent creatures that have been rescued and are well looked after.
All the Garden Route attractions are within two hours driving from the farm.

Directions to Vryheid Cottage
From George take the N2 east as far as Plettenberg Bay.
Carry on past Plett for another 5 km, cross the Bitou bridge and immediately turn left on the R340.
Travel for 2.5km and the farm signboard will be on your right.
From Port Elizabeth take the N2 till you cross the Keurbooms river and turn right at the R340 turn off.
From there on 2.5km and the sign will be on the right.
