We look forward to welcoming you to our lodge very soon. Style, sophistication and exceptional scenery are at the heart of this luxury lodge, which has breathtaking views of the mighty Zambezi River and The Bakota Gorge, which drops some 226 metres down from the lodge. Being in close proximity of the Victoria Falls, this lodge offers guests the opportunity to tour these spectacular world-renowned landmarks. Seven delightful en-suite chalets, constructed using naturally occurring materials from the surrounding area, give a taste of authenticity without compromising on comfort. Great care and attention has gone into the chalet design and furnishings. To complement the spacious bedroom and living area, each room has a large en-suite bathroom providing guests with all the amenities for an enjoyable stay. The soft furnishings are carefully coordinated with furniture which is made using indigenous materials by local craftsmen. The reed walls of the chalet are at three-quarter height but can be raised to the full height if required. There are mosquito nets on all beds and coils are used in the evenings. Accommodation at Taita Falcon LodgeThe Taita Falcon Lodge offers an intimate bush experience, being located above the Zambezi River. It consists of 7 chalets with a rustic feel, which are furnished using indigenous materials by local craftsmen. The reed walls of the chalets are at three-quarter height but can be raised to the full height if required. There are mosquito nets on all beds and coils are used in the evenings. The chalets are en-suite, and they have either a double bed, or two single beds. This lodge prides itself in being eco-friendly, and uses gas heating for the shower water, and solar power for the lighting in the chalets. On the outside of each chalet is a private and secluded sun garden, complete with outdoor shower for 'close to nature' moments. The restaurant is on the deck, covered with a thatched roof, overlooking the gorge. This gives an amazing view, which complements the delectable meals served. At Taita Falcon Lodge, it's simple to take things easy, but there is also a wide array of activities which cater for the more active guests. Activity options to chose from include guided bush & bird walks, a cultural village tour, a visit to Victoria Falls (Mosi-oa-Tunya), a sunset game viewing cruise and a Livingstone town tour. There are also extreme activities such as white-water rafting, abseiling, and bungee-jumping. The icing on the cake is the incredible and hospitable service of the staff, which makes Taita Falcon Lodge a perfect haven for relaxing in a luxurious, yet friendly environment. Breathtaking; Awesome; Delightful; Wondrous......our visitors book is brimming with superlatives where our guests have tried their best to describe the stunning views down on the Zambezi River from Taita Falcon Lodge. Neither words nor pictures seem able to do it justice. You are simply going to have to experience it for yourself! The Bakota Gorge drops some 226 metres down from the lodge. This provides the perfect viewing point down onto Rapids 16 and 17 on the river, less than 11km from Victoria Falls. This makes for a great spectator sport - watching the adventurous white water rafts and kayaks attempt to navigate their way carefully through these rapids. From your chalet, the paths weave their way across the plateau linking them to the lodge's central living area, viewing deck, swimming pool, dining area and bar. You'll want to take your time and take in the scenery around you. In the evenings, guests can relax with a sundowner and watch as the sun sets over the gorge, maybe enjoying the seclusion of our intimate little "nook" lounge or sharing stories around the warming campfire.
