Not really a forest of fossils but two fossilised tree trunks that are about 280 million years old. Buried for many years after being swept down from central Africa millions of years ago they underwent silicification which turned them to stone.

Vingerklip
Locals say this is the finger of God that touched this area and blessed it, the geological explanation is the erosion of the Ugab Terrace. Standing 929 metres above sea level it is 35 metres tall. You can climb the surrounding hill but not the Vingerklip itself.

Nicknamed the Matterhorn of Africa because of its distinctive pointed peak thrusting out of the surrounding flat desert landscape. Spitzkoppe is a stunningly beautiful place to visit. The peak is 670 metres high and several smaller peaks dot the area.
