GETTING TO HOPKINS BELIZE & KISMET INN
By Bus: Busses run on the regular throughout Belize. The bus pictured is the James Bus. It runs from Belize city to Punta Gorda in the south of Belize. It leaves going in both directions pretty much hourly all day long. If you fly into Belize you can take a taxi from The International Airport to the Belize City Novelo's Bus Terminal (approx 25-30US) and catch the next James Bus south. They are express buses and will make a brief stop in Belmopan. You can use the bathroom there or get a snack from a food vendor. Once it passes Belmopan the next stop is Dangriga. It makes another brief stop there for a bathroom break. You have 2 options at this point. You can continue on the same bus to the Hopkins Junction and hitchhike into the village. Or get off and take the Hopkins bus which will take you almost directly to Kismet Inn. The Hopkins bus leaves Dangriga at 10:30AM and 5:00PM.
By Plane: You can catch a flight from Philip Goldson International Airport to Dangriga on either Tropic Air or Maya Island Air. From Dangriga municipal airport you can take a taxi straight to Kismet Inn. Or take a taxi from the airport to the bus terminal and catch the hopkins bus. We can also arrange to have you picked up at the Dangriga airport if you wish.
By Vehicle: Vehicles can be rented
at the airport and other rental agencies near the airport. From Belize City,
you take the George Price Highway to Belmopan, then head east on the Hummingbird
Highway, then south on the Southern Highway, to the Hopkins Junction. You
can then follow the signs to Kismet Inn. We do not recommend driving in Belize
at night if you are not familiar with the roads. Some are unmarked and can
be dangerous.
