Kawasan Falls Cebu Philippines

After the entrance do not expect any more to escape from the constant stream of bikes zipping more lazy people up and down the path and across the bridges, if you stop on the bridge to take a photo of the lovely scenery expect bikes to hoot and call at you to move so they can cross.

As you approach the falls you will hear the shouting and splashing above the noise of the tumbling waterfall and you are greeted by the sight of a large torquoise pool under a lovely waterfall, all completely overrun by food stalls, tables for rent and rafts for hire. The falls and pools are stunning but the atmosphere is for fun, noise and playing with no respect for nature. concrete platforms have been built right up to the waters edge so tables can be squeezed as close to the water as possible and everyone is trying to make some money.. want to sit at a table that will be P300, need the toilet P10, want to ride a bamboo raft P300, want to swim, then you 'must' have a life jacket and thats P50, you don't have to pay to swim and it is not a requirement to wear a life jacket, although they will try and tell you it is!

You will find families and friends having a great time cooling off in the water eating, drinking and enjoying thier day out and that is what Kawasan is good for, if you want peace quiet and nature being cared for DO NOT VISIT.

Unfortunately for the beautiful falls the area is being destroyed and ruined for money, litter is just left on the tables then blown into the river where it is washed downstream to become someone elses problem, fortunatley there are several falls, so up to the next level ...
