Welcome to Casa de Beija Flor! Our piece of paradise on Praia de Tofo, a beautiful little beach town 25kms from Inhambane. White sands, endless beaches, deep blue sea, magical diving, exhilarating surfing and a beautiful environment to relax. Casa de Beija Flor translated stands for 'House of the Flower Kisser' and was so named as the rare Neergaard's Sunbird was identified on the site where the lodge is built. The two casitas (traditionally thatched roof houses) that are available can each comfortably accommodate 4 people and therefore this is a perfect holiday spot for a small intimate group of friends or family.

Some ideas of what to do at Casa de Beija Flor

Where is Casa de Beija Flor?
There are various ways to get to Tofo including self drive, air travel or if you are adventurous public transport. You do not need a 4×4 to get to Tofo, you can get there in a standard sedan vehicle.

Self Drive:
Tofo is 1100kms from Johannesburg and 690kms from Nelspruit. The Maputo Corridor provides a very good highway, the N4 from Johannesburg to Maputo. From Maputo take the EN1 north to Xai Xai. It is advisable to fill up with petrol at Xai Xai. Continue driving north after Xai Xai, the road is in very good condition. At Lindela the road splits.

Turn right onto the Inhambane road and continue for about 50kms on to the city of Inhambane. Continue through the city of Inhambane following the signs to Tofo. The stretch between Inhambane and Tofo is about 25kms. You will reach an intersection and continue towards your right past Bar Babalaza. Follow the road for about 10kms and you will enter Tofo. Look out for a road on your right with signs, turn right up this road, and you will see the parking area for Casa de Beija Flor.

Air Travel:
LAM (Mozambican Airlines) flys directly from O.R. Tambo Airport to Inhambane Airport on a daily basis. A shuttle service can be provided from the Inhambane Airport to Casa de Beija Flor.

Public Transport: (not for the faint hearted)
There are local express buses that run from Maputo to Inhambane on a daily basis. The trip takes about 8 hours. There are also chappas (local minibus taxis) that can be used. If dropped off in Inhambane catch a chappa to Tofo. The Tofo village centre is a 10 minute walk from Casa de Beija Flor or a shuttle service can be arranged on request.
