Nhambavale Lodge Activities
Fishing:
Renown fishing, especially game (sailfish, king Mackeral, Barracuda, shark,
marlin and Kingfish). Fly fishing for most species of Kingfish, queenfish,
bonefish, barracuda and many other species. Surf fishing for barracuda,
kingfish, pompana, blacktip sharks and many species of rays and guitarfish.
For the rock and surf enthusiast, our waters are renowned for kingfish,
stumpnose, pompano and bonefish.
There are a number of unbelievable deep water ledges to fish off where
king mackerel, ignobilis kingfish and giant barracuda are frequently caught.
For deep sea fishing, there is good surf launch at the ebach, and charter
boats available.
Swimming:
Swimming in the lagoon in front of the lodge is safe and pleasant.
Swimming at the main beach is fine at low tide, but can be dangerous at
high tide, when currents are strong and the surf is rough.
Marine life:
Dolphins frequent the deep water channels near the lodge. Hump back whales,
whale sharks and leather back turtles can be seen from time to time.
Our restaurant, and bar area is situated on the lake
itself, and offers a menu of seafood, special local dishes, traditional
favourites and our famous peri-peri chicken.
Other activities include snorkelling and spear fishing.
Watch for whales, swim, bronze on the beach, spot the birds, visit the
large swamplands, and see the resident palmnut vulture ...
If you would rather stay on the lake, we have canoes and kayaks for hire.
We have our own beach-volleyball court, on our mini lakeside
"beach".
The bar area has a variety of board games, books, and
darts as well as a TV with satellite to watch the Bokke.
Also for the kids is our variety of animals we have at the lodge, ranging
from dogs to pigs and turkeys. We can assure you that not a minute of
boredom will go by.
If this isn't enough, why not take a look at the wreck on the beach, or
the famous King's Pool.
