all the farm animals including the Belted Galloways, sheep, chickens,

Low Kirkbride is superb for those seeking a country retreat and is ideally
situated within Dumfries and Galloway for easy access to local attractions.
There is lots to do in the area including walking, fishing, mountain biking,
golfing and horse riding. In addition come and see local castles, art,
gardens, wildlife and museums.
Low Kirkbride Accommodation
They have three en-suite rooms, one double, one twin and one family suite
(the Cheese House), all with colour digital TVs (with teletext), hairdryers,
electric blankets, tea/coffee making facilities, alarm clock/radio and
tourist information. All bathrooms have Mira power showers and heated
towel rails. The house has been freshly decorated for 2009. The living
room is available for guests use with a wood/ coal burning stove and a
42" flat screen TV and a DVD recorder. Enjoy afternoon tea in the
living room or conservatory where you can relax and absorb the sunshine.
The Double Room
The double room hosts a superb view over the surrounding countryside.
Our adjustable Willowbrook bed allows you to have a comfortable position
for sleeping, reading or watching TV and massages you after a busy day.
The walk-in wardrobe is spacious and a trouser press is provided. The
bathroom has a bath and shower combined.
The Twin Room
The twin room has two comfy beds with a relaxing ambiance and a 42”
digital television. Memory foam pillows are available to ensure you sleep
well.
The Family Room – The Cheese House
The Cheese House is ideal for all, from couples to larger groups (sleeps
a maximum of seven people) with two double beds (one sofa bed) and three
singles. There is also a living room/ dining room with gas fire, two bathrooms
and a fully fitted kitchen and is available for self catering on request.
There are two colour televisions (both digital) and a DVD player.
the Games Room
A games room is provided with table tennis, a pool table, tennis rackets,
quoites, skittles and rounders, and a range of bikes are available too.
A lockable bike shed and bike washing facilities is also for guests use.

Getting there from the Information Center
From Dumfries Tourist Information Center go right towards Buccleuch Street.
Follow signs for A76 Kilmarnock. This takes you over the Buccleuch Street
Bridge and over the roundabout on the by-pass.Stay on the A76 for approximately
2 miles, then go left on B729 to Dunscore, through Dunscore and just past
the derestriction signs there is a small crossroads. Go right past Lag
Tower and take 1st left at a triangle of grass. Low Kirkbride is the 1st
farm on the left.
Getting There by Car
From the South: Take the A75 to Dumfries and then the A76 towards Kilmarnock.
Approximately six miles from Dumfries turn left off the A76 at the Auldgirth
Shop and Post Office. (They are three miles from the A76-follow signs
in the shape of sheep to the Byre at Low Kirkbride) Take your first right,
second left towards Glenmidge, next right, right again and the Byre self
catering cottage is the first farm on your left.
From the North: Take the M74 south. Exit at junction 14 taking the A702
towards Elvanfoot and Thornhill. After approximately 15 miles turn left
onto the A76, go through Thornhill. After six miles turn off the A76 at
Auldgirth towards Dunscore. Then follow the directions above from Auldgirth.
Getting There by Railway
From Dumfries Railway Station go right on Lovers Walk. At T junction on
Edinburgh Road go right. Follow this road to roundabout on by-pass go
left. At next roundabout go right on A76 towards Kilmarnock. After approximately
2 miles take B729 to Dunscore. Go through Dunscore and just past derestriction
signs there is a small crossroads. Take right, past Lag Tower and take
1st left at triangleof grass. Low Kirkbride is 1st farm on left.
Getting there by Aeroplane
From Glasgow Airport take M8 towards Glasgow and then Edinburgh. Take
M73/M74 towards Carlisle and at junction 14 take A702 to Thornhill. Go
through Thornhill and at Auldgirth go right to Dunscore.Take 2nd right
at Moat Farm, then 1st left in small village (Glenmidge). Take 1st right
and Low Kirkbride is 1st farm on left. Glasgow Airport to Low Kirkbride
is 82 miles.
Getting There by Ferry
From Stranraer take A75 towards Dumfries and Carlisle. On outskirts of
Dumfries take A76 towards Kilmarnock. After approximately 2 miles take
B729 to Dunscore. Go through Dunscore and just past the derestriction
signs there is a small crossroads. Go right, past Lag Tower and take 1st
left at triangle of grass. Low Kirkbride is first farm on left.
