newly refurbished Old Mission Hall is stylishly decorated and elegantly
furnished. It provides comfortable non-smoking accommodation for up to
two guests, and is fully accessible for a disabled guest staying with
a companion.
Modern insulation, double-glazing, convector heaters and underfloor heating were carefully placed to provide maximum comfort with minimum loss, making the house energy efficient and comfortably warm.
The Old Mission Hall Accommodation
The spacious and airy living room has the original high ceiling of the mission hall, with sitting and dining areas. Flat screen 32” HD TV (Freeview and DVD player). The attractive kitchen is newly fitted with oven, hob, and equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washer/drier.
The shower room has a fully accessible level shower area, screened by a wall of glass bricks, plus wash hand basin, heated towel rail and underfloor heating. The cosy bedroom has a double bed with luxury mattress, a low level antique wardrobe (disabled friendly), radio and CD player. Outside the bedroom, in the corridor stands a full-size antique wardrobe. The bright rear hall leads to a separate toilet fully equipped for disabled use plus wash hand basin and underfloor heating.
A doubled-glazed back door gives level access to a small sheltered patio
with table, chairs, trellis and planters. There are views to the hills.
From the patio a gently sloping concrete path leads to the side gate,
providing a secure place to park bicycles and giving disabled access to
the parking area at the front of the house, on the road.
Electricity costs are included in the price. All linen and towels provided.

From White Sands, proceed NW and turn left at A780/ Buccleuch Street.
Continue to follow A780 for 0.1 mile, and turn right at Terregles Street.
Continue on this road for 6.26 miles to Shawhead. The Old Mission Hall
is located on the main street, just before the village hall.

Take A75 trunk road from Gretna to Stranraer. Go past Dumfries. After
6 miles take right turn signed ‘Shawhead’. After 2 miles,
reach T junction in village. Turn left, The Old Mission Hall is about
100 meters on the right hand side, just before the village hall.
