Day 1 WINDHOEK [Chalets LD]
You will be picked up from your accommodation at around 08h30 by your
guide and head south into the spectacular Namib Naukluft Park, stopping
at Rehoboth to buy refreshments. Our lodge is situated within the park
and offers attractive ‘afro-village’ style accommodation built
in an environmentally sensitive manner, primarily from wood, canvas and
thatch. Sossus Dune Lodge is the only lodge that offers 24 hours access
to the dunes! In the evening we drive to the dunes to view a true African
sunset on the dunes of Sossusvlei and watch in astonishment as the colours
of the sky change as the sun sets and the full moon rises in the horizon
giving off a flare in full view. This is a great opportunity for photographers
and nature lovers alike, we relax on the dunes and admire the full moon
as it continues to flare supported by the glimmer of the stars that are
surrounding it.
Includes: N/A
Overnight: Twin share chalets with en-suite bathrooms
Day 2 SOSSUSVLEI AREA [Chalets BLD]
We depart pre-dawn from the lodge to arrive at Sossusvlei where we enjoy
a beautiful sunrise and witness the changing colours of these famous sand
dunes. Explore this unique area on foot before heading into Dead Vlei
with its large expanse of bleached cracked clay and skeletal camel thorn
trees, contrasting with a backdrop of huge dunes with their ever-changing
colours. We return to the lodge and relax during the hottest part of the
day or enjoy a swim in the pool then later this afternoon explore the
nearby Sesriem Canyon, one of the few places that has permanent water.
Includes: Entrance fees
Day 3 WINDHOEK [B]
