Choosing Your African SafariThere are three main ways to go on safari in Kruger (South Africa):- Some points to consider when deciding on a Kruger Safari
Self-drive Kruger Safaris(only available in the Kruger National Park not the private greater Kruger reserves – and you must stay on the marked roads) In a self drive safari you do the driving around the park at your own pace, buy a map from the entrance gate and choose your route (our expert staff who spend most of their weekends in the park can recommend good routes for you), we will pre-book your accommodation for each night, which gives you peace of mind as to where you will spend the night but what you do in-between is up to you. This gives you great flexibility and your own timescale to work with, meals can be cooked by yourself at the restcamps and you can eat at the restaurants in the camps, most Kruger camps also have shops with a selection of food and drinks for sale. We can arrange reliable vehicle hire for you either from the airport or at Kruger where you can collect and return the vehicle. Self-drive Guided Kruger SafarisWith this type of Safari you drive to the lodge (either in your own vehicle or a rental vehicle) but once at the lodge you can park up and they will take you on all the game drives in special open vehicles with an expert ranger and tracker to track, locate and tell you all about the wildlife around you. The advantage of this is that you can relax and enjoy your African safari with an expert guide to show you all the wildlife, also it means you can combine two different lodges during your Safari holiday, taking in two different areas of the Kruger. Fly-in Guided Kruger SafariSafaris of this nature are highly popular, and, for the time sensitive, save a lot of time travelling from area to area. We arrange everything for you: a flight to the nearest Kruger
airport where the lodge will collect and transfer you to the
lodge take you on all the game drives in special open vehicles
with an expert ranger and tracker to track, locate and tell
you all about the wildlife around you and at the end transfer
you back to the airport or to another lodge. |
