The Northern Region of the Kruger National Park
Shimuwini Bush Camp
Shimuwini is a Shangaan word for "Place of the Baobab Tree".
The camp is so named because the nearby Letaba River which fronts the
cottages, is lined with these huge trees, one of them estimated to be

The Southern Region of the Kruger National Park
The southern region of the Kruger National Parks is bordered by
the Sabie River in the north and the Crocodile River in the South.
Mozambique
Limpopo Park now has sections of open border with Kruger in the
East, and the Lebombo form a rugged ridge of rhyolite around Pretoriuskop
in the west. The highest point in the Kruger
Park is at Khandzalive in the south west corner near Berg-en-dal
Camp, rising to 839 m. The granite produces the rounded hills of
Napi , Shabeni and Shirimantanga which punctuate the southern region.
The southern region of the Kruger National Parks is the
best area to see White Rhino which occur in large numbers near Mbyamiti
River and Lower
Sabie. Its also good for elephant and lions. The route between Lower
Sabi and Skukuza
is recognised as one of the best places to view game in the park, nicknamed
lion drive. During peak holiday season the main routes in southern Kruger
National Park can become crowded with traffic
Malelane Gate: Recommended gate to Biyamiti and Berg-en-dal
Take the N4 to Nelspruit and head through Nelspruit to Malelane.
Then turn left at Kruger National Park sign just outside Malelane
and head towards the gate. Allow between 4 to 5 hours for the trip
to the gate.

Crocodile Bridge Gate: Recommended gate to Crocodile Bridge
and Lower Sabie
Take the N4 to Nelspruit, head through Nelspruit to Malelane and
on to Komatipoort (about 110 kms). Then turn left onto the R571
just after Komatipoort and head on to the gate. Allow between 5
to 6 hours for the trip to the gate.

Numbi Gate: Recommended gate to Pretoriuskop
Take the N4 to Nelspruit then take the R40 to White River. Just
out side White River take the R538 to the gate. Allow between 4

Take the N4 to Nelspruit then take the R40 to White River, Hazyview
