Email Eagles Nest Reservations: booknamibia@madbookings.com
The Eagle's Nest stands on the Klein Aus Vista reserve, which
is 2km west of the small town of Aus, in Southern Namibia. It's
just south of the main B4 tarred road, approximately 121km from
the coast at Luderitz.
The location of Klein Aus Vista makes it excellent for a 2-3 day
stop for visitors wanting to visit Luderitz who do not want to stay
there.
Eagle's Nest Lodge is set at the foot of the Aus mountains on this
reserve, on a 10 hectare farm that borders on the Sperrgebiet. (Forbidden
diamond mining area.)
The Nest is 7km away from the main reception and restaurant complex
of the Desert Horse Inn, and is easily accessible by car in only
10 minutes.

ACCOMMODATION
Eagle's Nest Lodge is a small group of 9 rock chalets spread
out over a boulder-strewn hillside. The Boulder, Desert Vista and The
Rock chalets are amongst the guests favourites. Some are built partially
from gigantic granite boulders, whilst others are built into the actual
rock walls and they all have stone floors.
Each chalet has en-suite facilities, (flush toilet, wash basin/shower
with soap dispensers and bath towels provided), a fully equipped kitchenette,
a lounge, fireplace and a private verandah, overlooking the seemingly
endless Namib Desert.
The chalets also have wooden furniture – bamboo wardrobes and wooden
luggage racks - a bedside table and light, and an honesty bar. Each of
the chalets have very basic self catering equipment – they all have
a a small kitchenette, which is equipped with the basic utensils needed
for a braai (BBQ), and to make a cooked breakfast. When you arrive, you'll
find napkins, clean cutlery and crockery at your chalet already –
and a table set and ready for use.
The Boulder
Made up of 2 interlinked chalets, a 'North' and a 'South' chalet. Each
has its own private entrance and en-suite bathroom but they share a lounge
area and a dining / kitchenette room between the 2 chalets. This can be
accessed by inter-leading doors which lead from the bedrooms of the individual
chalets and its is ideal for a family or groups traveling together.
The Desert Vista
It backs onto the rock of the mountain and has a double and a single bed,
a small, open-plan lounge area and a private terrace.
The Rock
The Rock is built slightly higher than many of the rest on a steep path.
It has a very large rock in the middle of the room, a double and a single
bed, a lovely terrace, the usual en suite bathroom and an open plan lounge
area.
RESTUARANT
Guests at The Eagles Nest's idyllic setting can appreciate the solitude
and tranquility of the desert, but are welcome to enjoy the country cuisine
and vibrant atmosphere of the restaurant / bar at the Desert Horse Inn.
If they prefer, braai / BBQ packs, breakfast platters can be organized
or they can prepare their own meals in their chalets.
