the best 3 star hotel accommodation in Highland perthshire offering affordable
comfort & quality
Expect and enjoy 16 rather quaint, very cosy and spacious, totally rustic,
atmospheric and unmistakeably Scottish highland inn style bedrooms. Not
one room is similar to the other. We may – and mean to - in time
give them all their own identity – thank goodness for variety, character
and charm - and not at all your standardized city hotel accommodation.
Well behaved pets, and children of all ages are welcome.
All with every modern facility, as required by the discerning guest,
including iron, ironing board and colour TV. Each room is individually
decorated using the high quality fabrics and furnishings to ensure your
comfort and relaxation. Our newly refurbished Feature rooms located on
our top floor offer amazing views over the surrounding countryside, rainfall
showers, bathtubs & flat screen TVs.
Expect a very flexible approach to your room requirements. Fluffy bath
sheeets and extra bedding as standard. Delightful complimentary Gilchrest
& Soams toiletries, recently refurbished bathrooms.
Family rooms complemented by great childrens’ menus although most
of our discerning children prefer the adult menus!
We have a large family room, one single room – and 14 other delightful
large and spacious rooms, most ‘with views’ - which can be
either twin or double following the advent of zip and link beds –
allowing a large queen or two cosy singles – as needs require.
This gives us the flexibility to accommodate small groups and parties
of all shapes and sizes. The clear pure highland country air here also
helps to guarantee a great night’s sleep.
We can arrange anything for you in your room, by prior request, from a
lovely bottle of rose or sparkling champagne to enjoy on arrival, to chocolates
and fresh flowers for the romantics.
Dining:
We passionately believe in our food at The Weem Hotel. We also believe
you need to feel good to enjoy great food to the full and we are sure
that our delightful, informal, easy friendly atmosphere and ambience will
help make your whole wining and dining experience here complete.
We also believe that food alone is not the only reason why people enjoy
a memorable lunch, supper or dinner experience so it's important to us
that everything is done right and to the best of our ability. We must
be doing something right as we continue to welcome return customers and
enjoy the opportunity to renew 'auld acquaintances'.
We believe in our classic Scottish culinary product – complex twists
and novelties too often distract from the final dish so we tend to avoid
them.
And our restaurant (or our large bar lounge, or informal lounges if you
prefer) is all about making people welcome, comfortable and feeling at
ease.
If you are coming to stay with us – we do encourage you to book
lunch, dinner or supper in advance, as the hotel is so popular with local
discerning diners!
Wherever possible we try to source our ingredients from the best local
sources. Our shellfish comes from Tarbert, Loch Fyne.
Our beef is Scottish born, raised and slaughtered and
is always hung properly to give extra flavour and tenderness.
We try to source hill lamb when possible as we think this gives the best
flavour.
All dishes are freshly made daily. We cater for all special diets –if
you have special requests our chef will always be happy to discuss them
with you.
Wines Ales And Malts:
Visitors to the Weem can certainly rely on us for the quality of our real
ales and beers, normally featuring local brewers, and always featuring
our own real ale specially brewed for the Weem by Inveralmond Brewery.
We currently have 3 handpumps serving real ales & a good old ‘scrumpy’
cider.
And Robert Gilmour’s superb wine list and selection of rare malt
whiskies is more of a passion than his accountant would like!
Enjoy an extensive cellar of over 60 interesting fine wines from around
the world, with a particularly good French selection, and half a dozen
lovely house wines are available by the glass too.
Over 75 great Scotch malts regularly adorn the shelves – but not
always for long owing to their great popularity. Enjoy the well known,
the older, rarer and more interesting – and some cask strength ‘models’
from the great malt distilleries of Speyside, the highlands, lowlands
and islands of Scotland.
Beer Gardens:
‘Al fresco’ enthusiasts are superbly well catered for here.
The large terraced beer garden at the front of the hotel, with seating
for 20-30 guests - is always open no matter the weather!
And we – in the forlorn hope of more normal and Indian summers perhaps
– will further develop this area and its attractiveness to make
it a ‘must stop’ for passing travellers too.
It will be our own little ‘Weem magnet’. Meals can be taken
here too and it is ideal for families with children with good road sense
- and dare we say it – smokers.
If that wasn‘t enough - our fabulous patio and beer garden to the
rear of the hotel, lined with glorious shrubs - spectacular in full bloom
in summer – does everything the terraced beer garden can do –
but adds the extra dimension of quiet pre-dinner drinks by sunset in this
gorgeous scenic area.
Hotel Lounges:
This little hotel is deceptively spacious and has copious areas of relaxation,
dining and wining space – cosy, comfortable and attractively decorated
– and oozing rustic charm – with an abundance of real crackling
log fires. You can't help but relax and de-stress.
Our lounges are really a highlight of the delightful country and relaxed
ambience of this unmistakably inn-style Scottish highland hotel, we feel.
Traditional lounges in most hotels and inns, especially modern ones are
becoming a thing of the past – but -no open plan, A-plan or ‘any
other plan’ lounge areas here.
Two lovely smallish yet deceptively spacious self contained rooms on the
ground floor, very intimate with a superb fireplace, loaded with good
books, magazines and games, and allowing you to get away from the relative
‘vibrancy’ of the bar.
Enjoy pre-dinner aperitifs, after dinner liqueurs and wonderful Scottish
malts, table served if you prefer. Soak in a great book.
Enjoy board and card games with and amongst friends.
Be yourselves or take an opportunity to meet new friends or share experiences
with fellow guests in a mellow, friendly and quietly relaxing environment.
Enjoy a simple touch of traditional elegance, liberally sprinkled with
the very best of modern comforts.
Families:
Relax and look forward to your next family vacation or leisure break in
Scotland with our specially-selected child-friendly accommodation plus
great events to visit, and activities to enjoy, which we can help arrange
for the whole family. We’ll do all the hard work so you don’t
have to.
Highland Perthshire is a truly great destination in which to spend your
family holiday. Exciting and fun outdoor activity holidays for the whole
family to enjoy based in beautiful surroundings.
And shared memories from your vacation can really bring some new bonds
to a family.
We offer a safe, peaceful environment for your children to enjoy, have
fun, make new friends and have a really good time.
Most of our local activity providers offer great family programs and activities
suitable for children, again in safe secure, professionally supervised
environments.
Children can learn to fish, play lovely golf courses ideal for the budding
Tiger Woods - and the area is rich in superb equestrian centres great
for families.
Neighbouring Pitlochry and Perth both have leisure centres and childrens’
amusement parks. Must visits too for families, a little further afield
are the Waltzing Waters in Newtonmore, and the Highland Folk and Wildlife
Museums, two sensational award winning visitor centres in nearby Kingussie.
The Wade Bar and Oak Panelled Restaurant with open log fire is open for
Morning Coffee, Lunches, Afternoon Tea/Cream Teas and Dinner in the evening.
Children are welcome throughout the hotel and a full children’s
menu is available at all times. In addition, the Garden Room and Courtyard
are available for private hire/afternoon/evening Barbeques or simply to
relax in away from the Madding Crowd.
For those ‘foodies’ out there, the Weem is just the place
for you as food plays a huge role at The Aberfeldy Weem Hotel, with seasonal
menus and chef’s specials frequently changing to fully leverage
the new seasons fresh produce to create traditional dishes with a modern
twist.
