Ben Lawers stands majestically to the west, a backdrop to the strath
and Drummond Hill offering an ever changing scene on a sunny afternoon
or winter daybreak is viewed from the living room, double or single bedroom.
Evening sunsets can be enjoyed indoors or out, toasting your toes at
the open log fire or listening to the owls as the stars make their appearance.
The barbecue overlooks the outdoor dining room to Weem Hill, Cluny Rock
and Farragon Hill to the north. Indoors the rooms are spacious, the kitchen/diner
has a gas living flame fire with ample room for five to eat.
It shares the view south to Monad Nam Mail, the Black Wood and the orchid
reserve beyond the millstone step at the front door with the twin bedroom.
The Cottage Accommodation
This stone built croft cottage and adjoining smithy are converted to
a spacious holiday home.
Sleeps 5 in 3 bedrooms, 1 king, 1 double, 1 single, a kitchen/diner, comfortable
lounge with beamed ceiling and open fire.
All principal rooms look to open country, the three to the west have magnificent
views over the Tay Valley to Ben Lawers. Centrally heated double glazed
rooms are warm, atmosphere cosy. Large garden with stream, great air,
sunsets.
The bedrooms are well placed offering privacy to mixed parties and families
alike.
The private garden has an uninterrupted panoramic view over arable farmland
to Aberfeldy and the River Tay in the distance.
On a clear day Studch an Lochan can be seen twenty miles away. Binoculars
are provided to assist in viewing the abundant birds of prey in this spectacular
area.
The building:
Sitting in its own grounds, the cottage has superb views of the Tay Valley
looking west to Ben Lawers.
This croft cottage has been enlarged by converting what have been in the
1800's the adjoining smithy.
It is on one floor and sleeps five in two large double bedrooms (one twin,
one king) and a single bedroom off the lounge.
The lounge is spacious and comfortable with an open
fireplace and beamed ceiling. The large eat-in kitchen is well-equipped,
cooking is by electricity.
There are two toilets, one with shower and hand basin off the double room.
The other has sink, automatic washing machine and tumble dryer off the
twin room. Each has shaver points.
There is also a radio/tape player and TV/video.
The cottage is centrally heated by mains gas with an additional gas fire
in the kitchen.
Portable electric heaters are provided. Water is heated by gas. Both gas
and electricity are an extra charge by meter.
All windows are double glazed. Coal, peat and barbecue fuel are all available
locally. A complimentary basket of logs is provided.
A child's cot and high chair are available on request. Bed linen is provided
on a weekly basis and towels can be hired. Outdoor furniture and a barbecue
are in the garden.

Getting there from the Information Centre:
From Aberfeldy Tourist Information Centre, take the A827 3 miles east
and turn right at signs for St Mary's church, Croftspardon Boarding Kennels.
Take this road for 0.5 mile to church car park. Go another 100 yards and
cottage is on your right.
Getting There by Railway:
From station at Pitlochry go to Atholl Road, turn right to A9. Take A9
south to Ballinluig, follow signs to Aberfeldy. After 7 miles turn left
at signs for St Mary's church, Croftspardon Boarding Kennels. Take this
road for 0.5 mile to church car park. Go another 100 yards and cottage
is on your right.
Getting there by Aeroplane:
From Edinburgh Airport follow signs to Forth Road Bridge and M90, cross
Forth Road Bridge and continue on M90 to Perth. At Perth take A9 north
to Ballinluig. From Ballinluig follow signs to Aberfeldy. After 7 miles
turn left at signs for St Mary's church, Croftspardon Boarding Kennels.
Take this road for 0.5 mile to church car park. Go another 100 yards and
cottage is on your right.
Getting There by Ferry:
From Oban take A85 east to Mid Lix. At Lix Toll Garage take A827 to Killin
and then to Aberfeldy. Take the A827 3 miles east, and turn right at signs
for St Mary's church, Croftspardon Boarding Kennels. Take this road for
0.5 mile to church car park, go another 100 yards and cottage is on your
right.
