snorkeling equipment with guides and instructors, ice cold sodas,
mineral water and beer, a delicious Zanzibari seafood lunch with
grilled fish and slipper lobster, gastronomic fruit tasting, coffee
and Amarula liqueur.

Area, which is home to two different species of dolphins, the
Indo-pacific humpback and the bottlenose. We are lucky enough to
see dolphins on 85% of our snorkeing safaris. In the morning we
set down on one of the beautiful sandbanks where one can relax,
swim or snorkel. There is plenty of good quality snorkeling equipment
and the experienced snorkeling guides will show you the pristine
coral reef, which teems with tropical sea life. Instruction
is also available for beginners. After snorkeling cold drinks, fresh
coconuts and local snacks are provided.
After snorkeling we go to Kwale island where we have our
“desert island” restaurant. The buffet lunch includes
fish, slipper lobster, calamari, rice and sauces all served hot
from the grill. Our crew also prepares and presents a gastronomic
fruit tasting with a large selection of delicious tropical fruits.
Join our crew for a sail on an “ngalawa”- a local canoe
with outriggers which has been carved from a single mango tree.
As Safari Blue comes to an end and we return by traditional lanteen
sail, the full splendor of the African sunset reveals itself.

and cultural sites of beautiful Old Stone Town. The narrow winding
streets are lined with stores selling local crafts, antiques, jewellery,
clothes and spices. The Orphanage Shop near the Old Fort, sells
crafts and paintings by local artists and the orphans themselves.

Market, National Museum, High Court, Slave Chambers, Old German
Consulate, Former English Gentlemen’s club, House of Wonders,

winding alleyways, ornately carved and studded doors, two cathedrals
and countless mosques. Stone Town has excellent gifts shops with
plenty of souvenirs and handicrafts for you to delight your friends
and family back home or find the perfect keepsake for yourself.
Jozani Forest
Jozani Forest, 35km southeast of Zanzibar, boasts a rich diversity
of flora and fauna making it a most magical place. A huge variety
of wildlife lives in and around the forest most notable are the
large troops of endemic Red Colobus Monkeys (Procolobus Kirkii)
- one of the most endangered monkey species in the world. While
walking in the lush rainforest you could also see other monkeys,
colorful birds, butterflies and if you are really lucky you might
catch a glimpse of the extremely rare Ader's Duiker.
The numerous walking trails cater for all levels of fitness and
encompass a whole spectrum of bio-diversity, ranging from Evergreen
Thickets to the Mangrove Boardwalks. Just down the road from Jozani
is Zala Park a small privately run conservation and education project
displaying some of the indigenous animals of the region. Guests
are asked to make a small donation to enter with all proceeds being
repatriated back into the local community.
Zanzibar Spice Tour
Since the abolition of the Slave Trade, spices have been at the
heart of Zanzibari enterprise. The sheer variety highlights the
Island’s strategic location as well as the depth of cultural
interaction. Indeed no trip to Zanzibar is complete without a visit
to one of our carefully selected Spice farms. Our Spice tour offers
you the opportunity to indulge your senses with a kaleidoscope of
smells, tastes and textures from the punch of a chili to the refreshing
succulence of green coconut flesh, we promise that this tour will
awaken your senses.
Menai Bay Conservation Area
Menai Bay has been dedicated as a conservation area since
1998 due to its outstanding natural beauty. Established by the World
Wildlife Federation (WWF), Menai Bay Conservation Area was designed
to give Zanzibaris in the Fumba area a vested interest in their
environment so they will protect it. The project is aimed at teaching
villagers how to conserve their natural heritage, and how to profitably
exploit it in a sustainable manner. Eco-tourism plays an
important role in that profitability and Fumba Beach Lodge is the
first and only lodge offering accommodation on the pristine Fumba
Peninsula.
