Welcome to Hillhurst Inn. Hillhurst is one of Charlottetown's
grandest homes and a designated heritage property. It stands as
a testament to the elegance and craftsmanship of the era. Built
in 1897 this Georgian Rival Home became locally known as the Crystal
Palace because of its size and its ample supply of windows.

All rooms have period furnishing, Island art, king, queen and double
beds and private baths - some rooms have jacuzzi baths. Rooms have
all the modern conveniences such as televisions, telephones, data
ports and air conditioning that also make it a business person friendly
environment.

Rooms:
Fitzroy Room
This large well appointed room provides the heritage of one of Charlottetown's
grandest homes with the comfort of the finest hotels. The Fitzroy Room
has a queen four poster canopy bed which is one of the finest examples
of Island craftsmanship. The large windows make this large room feel even
larger!
Kent Room
The Kent Room is the largest and most luxurious of the rooms in Hillhurst.
The furniture in this room is second to none. The Railway Barrons Bed
is a special piece of furniture in a room full of special antiques. Located
on the third floor this room has a full jacuzzi bath to relax in after
a full day of touring the Island.
Grafton Room
This large well appointed king room has a contemporary feel of a boutique
hotel in a heritage setting. The king bed is a piece of sculptural art
made by one of PEI's best known artists. What sets this room apart is
the openness you feel upon entering this room and literally being near
the tree tops. Large windows allows a river of light to flow in. Enjoy
the jacuzzi bath after a long day of sightseeing, dining or the theatre.
Connaught Room
The Connaught Room is a spacious and bright room which speaks of Victorian
elegance. The large windows provide a view of the heritage streetscape.
The room's art works are a collection of Island artists.
Richmond Room
This spacious room with its large arched window along one entire wall
has the feeling of being outside. The window is an architectural entity
itself. The superb collection of antiques and the contempory Island Art
makes this on of the favorites. It has a queen bed and a private bath.
Hillsboro Room
The Hillsboro Room is a bright room with large windows overlooking the
historic streetscape of downtown Charlottetown. It has a queen bed with
period furniture and a collection of Island art. This room has a large
full bath.
Cumberland Room
The Cumberland Room is a large quiet room on the third floor. Westward
facing this room receives great light. Once the maids quarters this room
has a queen bed and a private bath. It is furnish with Island antiques
and art.
Brighton Room
The Brighton Room was once the butler's room. This quiet bright room is
literally in the tree tops. Although small, with large windows this bright
room is one of the most popular in the Inn. It allows budget minded traveller
to experience the elegance of Hillhurst without blowing the holiday budget.
Longworth Room
The Longworth Room was once the nusery for the Longworth family. This
room is furnish with period furniture and a collection of Island and Inuit
art. This smaller room allows budget minded traveller to experience the
elegance of Hillhurst without blowing the holiday budget. This room has
its own private bathroom which is across the hall from the room allowing
us to offer this room at an economically minded point.

Lot 30
Lot 30 is Prince Edward Island's premiere restaurant. Lot 30 opened in
June 2008. Head chef and owner Gordan Bailey provides the highest level
of service, the finest food, and the greatest atmosphere that Prince Edward
Island has to offer.
The Pilot House
The Pilot House is located in the historic Roger's Hardware building located
at 70 Grafton Street in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. This beautiful
brick and sandstone heritage building was built in 1896 by Benjamin Rogers
and was purchased from the Rogers family by Doug & Judy Harvey in
March 2002.
Chef Guy LeClair’s creative talents are well known in Charlottetown,
and his dinner menu features tender prime rib, steaks, succulent ribs,
and a variety of fresh seasonal seafood. For those looking for a lighter
meal, Guy offers a pub menu which is available throughout the day and
evening.
Claddagh Oyster House
Featuring the best available oysters from Canada and around the world,
the Claddagh Oyster House is a warm, contemporary dining room, located
within an historic building in Downtown Charlottetown. A constantly changing
menu that features the freshest seafood, premium Island beef, chicken,
pasta and more – combined with our extensive wine selections be
sure to please! The Claddagh Oyster House, more than just great oysters!
The Dunes Cafe
The Dunes Cafe is one of our favourites. Located on Route 15 about 20
minutes north of Charlottetown the Dunes is one of the most interesting
experiences on PEI. The Dunes Studio Gallery and Cafe is an interesting
architectural complex which overlooks the scenic north shore of PEI. The
Peter Jansons' vision provides a destination for all visitors to PEI with
his ceramic gallery, which also features the craftsmanship of other Canadian
artists.
But back to the food... DINE on fresh local seafood and produce that
has been masterfully prepared into sumptuous entrees by Chef Emily Wells.
A full menu is also offered in the lounge and on the patio overlooking
the gardens and waters of Brackley Bay. The Café is fully licensed
and offers a wide selection of coffees and cocktails, fine wines and beers
to suit any taste.
Location & Directions
Hillhurst is located in the heart of Charlottetown - two blocks from theatres,
city centre shopping, historic Great George Street and Province House
National Historic Site. We are located in a quiet residential neighbourhood
in downtown Charlottetown. We offer a central vantage point from which
to stroll the harbour front, explore the delights of this historic city
or hike the outlying trails.
Directions
Coming From Confederation Bridge:
If you are driving into Charlottetown from the Confederation Bridge you
will take the Trans Canada Highway (Route #1) all the way into Downtown
Charlottetown. The Trans Canada Highway becomes University Avenue (also
Route # 1) as you enter the City. In the downtown, turn left on Kent Street,
go two blocks and turn left again on Hillsborough Street. Go up one block
and Hillhurst Inn is on the corner of Hillsborough and Fitzroy Street.
You can't miss it.
Coming From Wood Islands (Northumberland Ferries):
Follow the Trans Canada Highway (Route #1) into downtown Charlottetown
where it becomes Grafton Street. Turn right onto Hillsborough Street (the
fifth right after you cross the bridge into Charlottetown). Go up two
blocks and Hillhurst Inn is on the corner of Hillsborough and Fitzroy
Street.
Coming From Charlottetown Airport:
It's about a seven minute drive. When you exit the airport, turn left
onto Route #15 and follow it until it becomes Route #2. On Route #2, turn
right on Euston Street. Go one block and turn left on Hillsborough Street.
Go down one block and Hillhurst Inn is located one block down of Hillsborough
street and Fitzroy street.
