Welcome to Bishops Rest! Located in sunny St. Andrews, Prince Edward Island, Bishop’s Rest Bed & Breakfast is situated adjacent to a chapel, up on the hill, overlooking the Hillsborough River. The house is situated near the Bishop MacEachern National Historic Site. The former parochial house, built in 1890, has recently been updated to retain its original heritage and charm, with modern luxuries. The property is located conveniently close to white sandy beaches, golf courses, walking and biking trails, excursions, restaurants, and other amenities. Just steps from the front door you can connect on to the Confederation Trail which will take you from one end of the island to the other.

Bishop's Rest Bed & Breakfast Accommodation

The home features three spacious bedrooms, one suite and a large dining room, a relaxing parlour, and continental breakfast served daily. We are continuing to add amentities to please our growing clientele, be it a prepared picnic lunch, dinner for two, or an expanded book and dvd library.

Bishop’s Suite
This room includes over 800 square feet of living space with a private ensuite bathroom. The bedroom is furnished with antique styled furnishings, a queen size bed, a television with satellite, DVD splayer, and surround sound. The room also has air conditioning, or for a more natural feel, you can open the windows to allow in the fresh north shore breeze.

En-suite private bathroom:
The attached en-suite bathroom is a luxurious getaway, featuring a four by four foot walk-in marble shower, jacuzzi soaker bathtub and granite floors.

Sunrise Room
Another of our guests' favourites is the Sunrise Room, cleverly named for its vibrant orange colour. Although it is not in direct view of the sunrise, it does boast a spectacular view of the sun setting over the Hillsborough River. From the double set of windows along the river, guests can watch eagles in the morning diving for prey, or blue herons fishing on the riverbank. It is a peaceful escape.

With over 300 square feet of living space, there is plenty of room to relax and unwind. This room has a queen size bed, air conditioning, and shares a three piece bathroom that is located at the end of the hall.

River View
River View is another room that boasts a beautiful view of the Hillsborough River. The double set of windows allows guests to enjoy the grandeur of life in the country. The room is 300 square feet, featuring a comfy queen sized bed, satellite TV, and plenty of room to laze about the day. It shares a three piece bathroom that is located at the end of the hall.

Meadow View
Decorated in a beautiful Victorian style, Meadow View is over 200 square feet with a four poster double bed and comfy leather love seat. It shares a three piece bathroom which is adjacent to the room.

Guest Amenities
All guest of Bishop's Rest have access to the following things:

Bed and Breakfast Amenities
Featuring a fully stocked kitchen with an in-house, culinary trained chef. The home features a large dining room where a fully-stocked continental breakfast is served daily.

Continental breakfast items include: fresh baked goods, such as cinnamon rolls and muffins; a selection of toasts, bagels and English muffins; boiled eggs; yogurt; fruit salad; fresh fruit; a selection of cereals; breakfast bars; oatmeal; cheese; and a selection of beverages: tea (regular, decaf and specialty) or coffee, orange or apple juice, and milk.

Arrangements can also be made to accommodate allergy or other dietary needs.

Guests have access to other common areas in the home as well. Take a break in our formal parlor. Or relax in our library and entertainment centre. You may also wish to take a tour of our well-maintained grounds and gardens. We are also just steps away from the Confederation walking and biking trail.

Private Catering
Our in-house, culinary-trained chef can offer private catering for overnight guests or for private dinner parties, holidays, or special events. Our dining room can seat up to 16 people at one large table or 20 people at separate tables. We can host larger parties, but they will be separated in different dining areas.

Bishop's Rest is located in sunny St. Andrews, Prince Edward Island, Canada. It borders the Hillsborough River, and is not far from the sandy beaches of Prince Edward Island's north shore. It is just off St. Peter's Highway, approximately 25 km east of Charlottetown.
